Salt Of The Earth

The Song “Salt Of The Earth” was written as a tribute my Grandfather(Mr. Wille Mitchell of Alexandria, La.)…The Patriarch of our family. Daddee…as we so lovingly called him, answered God’s call to come home in July of 2018. He live to be 103 and he was truly The Salt Of The Earth & a BIG LIGHT in the World(at least to The Mitchell Family anyway). His favorite passage in the Bible came from Matt.5: 13-16...."You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven".... He lived that to the fullest and made sure to tell the world about Jesus. Inspired by his life and reflecting on that passage of scripture…God drop the melody to that song into my spirit and the words began to flow… “You Are The Light Of The World A City On A Mountain Top For All The World To See Your Good Deeds And They Will Glorify Your Heavenly Father. You Are The Salt Of the Earth…Jesus Said You Are The Salt Of the Earth So Shine Your Light From The King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords…Shine Your Light…recognizing that He is Jehovah Jireh…..The Alpha and The Omega…Shine Your Light people of God…All Hail Ye Royal Majesty. For All The World To See Your Good Deeds And They Will Glorify Your Heavenly Father. You Are The Salt Of the Earth And The Light Of The World.” As we navigate this life living for God in a world that definitely can be challenging at times, let us remember to let the Light of Christ shine in and through us. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide us to be the difference…the change in this world. Spread the Love of God to any and all we meet(as my Grandfather often did to so many) For we are fishers of men, winning souls to Christ…for the advancement of the Kingdom Of God. You Are The Salt Of The Earth And The Light Of The World……Let Your Light Shine Before Others, That They May See Your Good Deeds And Glorify Your Father In Heaven.
