Founder member of Rubella Ballet, now guitarist & vocalist Sid has been known for the tribal style of drumming that accompanied the punk/Goth sound the band have always had. Also drummer for Flux of Pink Indians on the EP Neu Smell with the anthem Tube Disaster & drummed for Poly Styrene and X-Ray Spex when they played at The Roundhouse in 2008 comeback gig. I'm the lead singer of punk band Rubella Ballet. Director of film/documentary "She's a Punk Rocker from Planet Punk". www.patreon.com/shesapunkrockerfromplanetpunk Starring my best friend Poly Styrene Zillah Minx was born in Birkenhead and has lived in East London since she was four years old. She became a punk at the age of fifteen in 1976. In 1979 she became the lead singer for Rubella Ballet. ‚Being a punk and in a band for over thirty years I got to know a lot of punks,‛ explains Zillah. ‚I decided it was time to hear our history from us, the punk women who were actually a part of the scene the punks who were there creating our punk ethos.‛ ‚I started to interview women for this film in 1996. I used a borrowed camera, researched and interviewed everyone myself. I did all the work to keep the project going. I found a studio called Spectacle that had made the poll tax riot documentary. The owner, Mark Saunders was sympathetic to my idea. He lent me his cameras and his studio facilities to edit when they were free. This was a very long process as I could only use the facilities for free when available. Eventually I managed to buy the equipment myself.‛ She’s A Punk Rocker premiered to an enthusiastic reception at the Raindance Film Festival. On seeing the finished film, Caroline Coon observed, ‚[I] was just bowled over – I'll watch it many times again. It is a really important, vivid record ...
