Welcome To A "Childhood's Fading Dream"

Greetings to all my mailing list subscribers. I hope this finds you healthy and happy. This 7th day of March brings everyone of you closer to hearing the new music of London Calling. I have dropped the song "Hellbound" from my page so that I can add it to the London Calling self titled debut album from 1997. It will be available for sale very shortly. London Calling's 1997 lineup was Steve Ott - Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals, Ron Cederlund - Keyboards, Synthesizers, Lead and Backing Vocals, Rick Sullivan - Electric Lead and Rhythm Guitars, Lead and Backing Vocals, and Jerry Rhines - Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals. I have added a song from 2002 called "Childhood's Fading Dream". After finishing up the "Fear" album with Steve Ott and our London Calling project, I had a bunch of song ideas and stories for the album of the same name including this one that was loosely based around the short story "All Summer In A Day" by Ray Bradbury. Of course it took on a life of its own like many other songs of mine and began to be a wish I was making for my 2 young daughters, Sarah and Heather. I was looking at what we were doing to this world and asking what can we do to save it for our children's sake. Would there be any world left over for them and not just a big smoldering hole. I was also at a point in my life that I just entered my 30's and was saying goodbye to childhood myself. Continuing on where I left off with on "Fear", my Uncle, Donald Cederlund, a professional pianist, producer, actor, and songwriter set me up with my first piece of studio software. Powertracks was a 48-track software music studio by PG Music and is still one of the go to soft studios we use for all of our recordings. It was the first time I started to utilize more tracks and orchestrations in my music. I always looked to Jeff Lynne, as a producer and songwriter and starting and ending point when recording sound. Well that is a little about what was going in 2002. The year is now 2020. I am still recording music with and working with Steve Ott. We are working on a new project as London Calling. My daughters are both in their mid-20's and my oldest has given me a Grandson, who I have played "Childhood's Fading Dream" for. I hope for him is that he carries on that musical dream. Till the next newsletter. may you all take care and may music help you dream your dreams and conquer any anxiety, stress, and help you through any obstacle in your way. - Ron Cederlund
