My Review Of "MY GOD"

Here is what I think! I love the Artist... and the Song and Message, also! All are really good! I also like the production of the arrangement! Good BG singers too! Great feel! What I do not like is the limitation of the money to give this Artist and Music the Production budget he deserves! We all know the cost of production... including live musicians (real drums) Live players! Studio Time and Budget... etc. My prayer is Dear GOD! Bless this Brother with the finances he needs to produce him to the max! In Jesus Name! Amen!

Sound of the times

Listening to the music there is a certain familiarity of R&B tunes of the past mixed with a light and joyful emotion as the message of Gospel is projected through the lyrics. Very good sound, clear vocals and music flowing gently with easy listening and memorable pleasure. " MY GOD " is definitely a keeper!

A few comments and suggestions

Intro is a little different.; I think the idea is good, but I do feel that the loop is over-compressed. Once vocals come in it does bring more balance to the mix. Vocals sound nice. Maybe a little "grit" on some of the vocals to add color and variety throughout the song; I do hear some of it at the end of the song; the feeling, emotion, groove, and grit add something special to the mix. There are several ways to enhance this in the mix through fx and plugins; just have to find the right combination and what suits your needs. Overall, it's pretty good. I know that I've reviewed a few of your songs and hopefully I am helping you with your mixes. I think that what would help is to find some quality, professional references that are inline with your genre and style; place them in your mix and make a comparison. Try to make your mix like your references in terms of quality, details, effects, compression, eq, etc..... This tip has greatly enhanced my recording, mixing, and mastering. Also, I would suggest focusing on small details without sacrificing the "groove" of the song. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work! as I am listening to this Really like this instrumental like a bouncy vibe off of top so you catch a vibe for sure. and then you come in singing I like the reverb effect it gives it that hall effect and it really sounds pretty good. It took me a little time to warm up to the sound of the artist and their sound. but after I totally understood. I like that you added energy a lot of energy more at the ending to end the song off right. sounds really good. keep working on the mixing and mastering but overall message received

Yet, many students do take music classes without such knowledge and are charged with writing music reviews. So for those of you in this situation, here is the information you need to have.   Defining “Music Review” Like any review, you will be writing a piece that summarizes the piece (song, CD, concert), some background on the musicians involved, the venue through which the music was delivered to you, such as a television performance or through an MP3, your analysis of the meaning of the piece(s), and your overall impression and opinion. A music review is, above all, subjective. Just like books and movies, everyone has different tastes, and you can only review music through your personal “eyes.” Choose the paper you need   Put as much detailed instructions as you can   The most appropriate writer is assigned   Download the completed paper Order Now with 15% off now Choosing the Topic If you have options regarding the music you review, of course you will probably choose a song, album, or a concert that you really like. However, this is usually not the case. Music reviews are usually assigned as a specific period or style is studied. Within that period or style, however, choose something that appeals to you personally or is the least objectionable to you. Let’s suppose for purposes of this post that you must produce a music review of a specific artist or group from the fold music era of the 1960’s. Steps in the Review Process Follow these steps and you will have a review essay that meets the expectations of any instructor. Listen to the music many, many times and take notes as you do. You want to be able to comment on lyrics, overall sound, and any unique elements that you hear/see, such as an interesting solo voice.Do a little research on the artist or group. Suppose you have decided to write your music review on the group, “Peter, Paul and Mary.” How did the group begin? How many “hit” songs did they have? In what years were they most popular?Prepare your outline. It doesn’t have to be formal, but you do need to have a solid organizational structure. Here’s a good format:IntroductionName of artist, band or group (Peter Paul and Mary)Name of song, albumType of Music (Fold Music)Give a Thesis Statement – Was this group reflective of the times?BodyBackground of the GroupAnalysis of the song(s) – meaning (quote some lyrics)Unique sounds of voices or instruments that you especially liked or dis-likedA comparison of this song or album with their others. How was the group a reflection of the times (in this case, the 60’s – protests against Vietnam, civil rights movement)? Conclusion: Your overall impression and opinion of this music – what do you like or dis-like? Justify your opinion. How did this song(s) impact music if at all?Write Your Piece, edit and proofread, and prepare you final copy.Do’sDon’tsDo listen to the song(s) many times before you put anything in writingDon’t express an opinion without some detail that supports itDo cite references when you include background informationDon’t try to be a professional critic, commenting on music unless you have the background Additional Points to Consider YouTube has videos of even older artists, bands or groups. Get on and view some of the performances. These will give you more perspective into the “personality.”Read what other critics have written about this particular song, artist(s), or band. You will gain more insight. Some Final Thoughts Remember, you may enter this assignment not knowing how to write a music review. My GOD Review

The lyrics to "My GOD" are great and I like the way he spelled out G O D in the chorus. The beat is a great compliment to the lyrics as well and the piano is nice. Robert leads the song with precision and the background accompaniment blends in well.

what a beautiful message

This is the third time I'm reviewing you. Which is totally out of character for me. I want to start by saying I am not a religious person at all, but this is SUCH a beautiful message in this song that it transcend any religious dogma ( not to down grade your personal belief , but quite the opposite ). The message is truly universal , and I cannot praise you enough for writing this song. Personally I think you are an amazing songwrighter. And can't believe someone hasn't signed you to a deal , ALL of your songs are that good. I know in the past I've given some ( I hope ) constructive criticism, Not this time, everything about this is SO uplifting, and pure, and definitely heartfelt,, I love your other songs , but the feel , and message of this one truly touches me.I don't know what else i can say but this will be the first review I give a five to .. Thank you for writing this , in our trying times this one was sorely needed.

In My Opinion

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the Powerful Message in this song.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny
