TIME for my two cents worth

Helpful

Okay Robbie it's TIME for my two cents worth. First off, you sound like my favorite artist of all TIME, David Bowie. I grew up in the seventies and this was classic seventies stuff. The song is perfectly titled because it's about TIME travel back to another era as I just explained. There are some great hooks in there and really don't care if it was a little repetitive at TIMES. You can get away with that with the good hooks this song has. The music component fit right in with what you were trying to do here. I dug this song and give you a Good job Sponge BOB~

an electro-pop-rock offering this time from Robbie. A very modern sound to the music with a driving rock guitar bed and tight drum sound. Good use of backing lyrics with a kind of phaser effect on the voice make it interesting. I think Robbie is getting better all the time, each song I've listened is better than the last. The sound recording, writing, playing and vocals all seem to be getting better. The only mildly negative thing I could say is that maybe this track is a bit too long at 4:11, I'd take a verse out...but other than that, great job, nice one Robbie!

Great Little Tune

I really like this. Honest! But if I don't pick it apart then what is the point, right? The chorus words don't work for me. Time has hands or it is an hour glass. I don't know why but mixing these images bugs the hell out of me. Are we dealing with a traditional clock with hands or are we dealing with an hour glass? Consistent images and metaphors make something good into something great. The rhythm guitar is very powerful, more powerful than the lead. That should not be. I'm going to get real specific here, you need to put the Sonnox Oxford Inflator at the end of the lead guitar FX chain to give it more body and drive. Basically that is some gentle saturation along with some limiting. That's a plug-in effect for a DAW in case you are not handling the mixing/mastering stuff yourself. The vocals are top notch. A mixture of Bowie and Springsteen. Absolutely no complaint here. Excellent tone of voice and clarity of words. Great musical feel, can't hope for better. Well EQ'd too. The drums sound great. Look, it sounds like the vocal, drums, and bass are in the same room and you made a great record, and then later you scotch taped on the guitars. All the timing is perfect, but the guitars are not properly glued into the mix and they are not melded with the rest as a good mixing engineer would make happen and a mastering engineer would finalize. Work on that and there's no stopping you.

Upbeat grungy rock

Helpful

This song has a distinctly upbeat grungey sound to it reminiscent of 90's music. The leads stand out as a melodic accompaniment and add a poppy flavor to the sound. My only holdback is the vocals could use a little improvement. Maybe set them behind the music a little and add reverb or other effect to enhance the quality.

ROCK ON

Helpful

Sounds like some good old Rock music with the distorted guitar solo and lead intro however for my taste it takes too long before the voice comes in and than the balance of the two music and voice is not clear enough the voice needs to be more on top and guitar strumming more soft not so sharp tones what interfere with the total balance. so If you have all tracks separate you can remix. Your voice is good for the Rock song but please use a little less reverb make it a bit more raw. ROCK ON Greetings Ron Nighthawk

Feelings of dance and rock'n roll on and evening full of hyper-reality. Good voice and good rythme and ryme. It remember's me the raw energie of "The Ramone" a kind of mélodic punk-rock that i like best.

Retro

Hey man, I really enjoyed this tune. Kind of has a retro 80's feel to it. A lot of great music came out of that decade. I could hear some cool harmony stuff through the verse. Not sure if I heard any during the chorus. If it is there maybe beef it up to get the point across. Nice guitar work. Keep up the good work! Rock on CBL

Nice song

Hey Robbie. Great song. Good lyrics. If you grab the hands of time, the hour glass will crack. You're a true poet. The powerchords of the electric guitar go SO well with the drums ! You have a good voice also. I bet you when some girls of my country would see you perform... well, they'd ADORE you man... The chordscheme of the song is sometimes a bit strange though. But the ending of the song is good. Concerning the composition: The song would be even better if you would put in a more elaborated bridge. And a good guitarsolo, like the Irish band Thin Lizzy or something ( I think that's a bit your style), would really lift up this song so that it could be played on the radio. That's what I think... You've really got a lot of talent and this song really rocks man ! Keep on playing, writing and performing ! And be so kind to check out my music on N1M: spiceypete. Pieter B. from Ghent, Belgium

Hello hey we just listened to your track and here are a few comments we thought that the backing track didn't do the vocals any justice. But after saying that we enjoyed your song and think it had good energy and ambiance keep on rocking from Amy and Tony aka skin deep..

"Time" Review

This isn't the kind of music I listen to but I thought the song was pretty good. The guitar riff is kind of catchy. The vocals are pretty good too. I think some more vocal harmonies would sound nice. It seemed just a little too long maybe. Nice song.

I've been listing to this song and for the most part I like it. Song writing and musical arrangement wise its a 10. Instrumentation and performance wise its a 10. Production wise is were I'm conflicted. I love the guitar tones and the vocals. I'm not hearing enough bass and I wished the drums had more of a raw sound. Production is a 8.5

A great song Robbie. The first few notes of the second/overdubbed guitar were a tad soft, maybe a mixing glitch, but then, bang, into top gear it went, the tone and sound came up, the tempo took off, and it went straight into another great, driving song from you. The background picking/overdub was really good, lovely playing, with great tone, it fitted perfectly without marring or taking away from the overall mood of the song, which is really good.. The guitar solo was spot on, great and lovely tone, and very cool to listen to, [Gibson - ??] I particularly liked the raw edge of the song as it drove the vocals and tempo along at a good pace. The vocals were nicely in key all the way through as was the timbre of the vocals. Great effort - very well done.

'Time' is a Trip back to The Sexy Seventies!

Helpful

Robbie banks song 'Time' is like steeping into a way-back machine and arriving suddenly at the glory era of 70's Rock & Roll! The lyrics and his vocal style remind me of Bowie a bit, yet the guitar riffs are classic echoes of so many, many great bands from that decade... Love all the images that flow into my head, as a result of Robbie's lyrics, like a trippy mind-movie after a toke on some really good joints. If you loved the 70's era of Rock, you gotta catch a listen to this cool jammin' tune, dude! Awesome, Robbie - Keep On Rocking, my man!
