good intro

Nice vocals and harmonies. I like the drum when it kicks in. The piano and also the strings work well. The change to up-tempo and the piano and guitar licks are nice. Nice way to exit the song with the up tempo beat and the vocals and the strings.

That 80s sound

Reviewing other people's art and music can sometimes be a little tricky. The old adage that if you can't say something good don't say nothing at all always stays in my mind. A lot of times I will to music posted by hopeful artist on number one music, and I simply passing by for a review because there seems to be something missing from the music. Sometimes it's the lyrics, sometimes it's a music recording quality, sometimes the music just doesn't make it. But in the song 'just how I feel', I was surprised at the vocal quality and the quality of the music played in the background. I can tell that when the lyrics of this song were being written, the artist were struggling with the lyrics. I know this from my own experience that sometimes you just seem to get lost in what you're trying to say and have it fit the music that you are marrying it to. But overall the quality of the song is very good for people starting out especially. The song has a retro 1980s sound to it, and sense you posted that it was recorded a while back that does not surprise me. But bear this in mind, Music Creation comes from a drive within us because we love doing it. It's like any art by any artist we will continue regardless of the reviews. Enjoy your music and strive to improve with each recording good luck.

Dejavue

As my title of the review reveals, the style reminds me very much of world famous greats from England. Still, this song is ok and quite audible. In any case, it is different, yes, somehow different and thus stands out from the crowd. I don't want to comment on "good" or "bad", because of course you have your own style and that would put the focus differently and in the end it is always in the eye of the respective listener ... The fact that I express myself speaks for itself ... The song was noticed and encouraged me to write something among all the others! Well, good job

Real Classic Rock Hit

Just how I feel is a real classic rock hit. This song takes me back to the late 70s early 80s and the great songs of the era. The way the song goes from smooth and mellow to upbeat, powerhouse rock and back is a great touch. The lead guitar solo was spot on and the musicianship is top notch throughout the song, from the keys and the bass to the steady percussion. Another cool song from Richie Hoffman.

Wonderful Song

Really well written song and I was impressed. I thought it had a really nice vibe to it. Vocals sounded good not to strong or weak. Band sounds great as well and wouldn’t change anything. Wonderful song!!! Profit

Expressional arranged Art-Rock

I am always surprised by the versatility of Richie Hoffman´s music. This track recorded with his old band "The Ride" is an impressive piece brilliant instrumented that reminds me of recordings from the eighties. The powerfull beat of the drum- and bass-lines forcing the music constantly on a higher level. Professional played piano intro and after that fantastic e-guitar solo brings you into the right mood. Good arrangement of the backing strings making the song complete. Richie´s unique vocals sounds great and gives an account in words about relation, including all the relevant characteristics, qualities, or events. Well, you might be a alternative or indie rock fan and that song puts you in the right place.

Interesting composition

Great combination of styles to get a fingerprintting interprettation during all the song. Very good arrengents of drumms and guitar within the rest of set of instruments, like the strings, in order to achive the sense of the different parts. Nice vocal performance. Good song.

My Opinion

This bunch of musicians known as The Ryde some years back, has a real tight sound, clearly know each others' strengths well, and can play off each other for the best overall sound and feel for the music and lyrics as provided by Richie Hoffman. I hope they have kept in touch to the present day, and can continue to put out this great brand of Rock 'n' Roll. I enjoyed it. D.

Nice!

I like the production sound and originality. Good job!! I can feel the heart in this showing you put in some dedicated work. I like the lyrics and the smooth sound, I can dig it!!! Sounds like the studio vibe was chill and relaxed!!!!! More artist should study the roots of their culture of art more to be better at their own art. Keep up the good work and stay in the lab creating new material to stay fresh and on your toes. If you're ever looking for a hip hop collaboration hit me up I'm versatile. Peace!

Good song

Hi Mr Hoffman. I like your music. This is quite a good song. The lyrics are really intriguing. The instrumentation is good: great mellotron. The keyboards( piano) sound good and the electric guitar sounds great as well. What I like in a song is some sort of flegma: Your voice sounds real and genuine ! It's a good composition but the ending is somewhat abrupt. Try to write compositions that linger more, get stuck in people's heads. A song is like a mathematical parameter according to me: The more nuanced a composition is, the more it shines in its uniqueness. Still I like your music, and if I came across an album of yours at a record shop, I'd probably buy it. Keep up with the good work !

Just How I Feel

Just How I Feel hits with the vocals and keys, and subtly draws you in. The vocalist has a voice singing style similar to Ozzie Osbourne, hitting with full power at the top of each phrase and allowing the energy to subside and the end, (I understand that this is a personal vocal choice, Van Morrison applies this technique in much of his 80's music), the vocal is slightly doubled with added depth by an increased overall reverb, this approach works and plays well here, reminiscent of the 70's progressive rock movement, ex. "The Alan Parsons Project". The mastering was done well in the studio, Keyboard and synth are full yet never dominate, drums are tasteful, as are the guitar and bass riffs; good musicians all. The lyrics are simple and direct, "seeking reassurance, the desire for a requited love".Everything is working for this piece, As a listener I just wanted a stronger defined finish; let's say when the last "Don't leave me alone" is sung, then come back with one more "Don't leave me alone...," or an impassioned instrumental riff, or just that line sung with a rising crescendo or choosing to give power and sustain to the delivery of the end of the phrase. I feel the ending just needs something to seal it, instead after such a great track it seems to just fall of right there. That is all that is missing here, otherwise, very nice! You wrote a fine song Mr. Hoffman.

In My Opinion

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, Consider backing off the processing on your vocals a little , not singing in a tunnel, more natural sound, but, not dry and flat either. I really enjoyed the message and energy in this song. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

80s - country melody

This romantic song has an interesting mix between a ballad and rock sounds, soft rock, which remember the 80s sounds. You sing few in this song, creating something to similar to a suspence.

Richie Horrman sums up just how I feel!

This epic-scale rocker has all the angles and all the textures of a Picasso, from very Beatlesque verses with classical elements on piano and orchestration, to uptempo, percussion-driven bridges that rock hard, all leading up to a lovely outro with brief glimpses of its recent past. Richie Hoffman sums up Just How I Feel.
