The slow groove is cool, also the intrumentation and the arrangement - there are interesting keyboard sounds. Very cool Song with cool psychodelic vocal and nice refrain melody! Well done!

Old school grunge with a twist

Helpful

Ok, I have to say that I´m no pro in this genre, more a heavy metal guy here BUT This song by Ralph Tomaselli really kept my attention and I actually want more \m/ This song "The possibilities" reminds me to a grunge band called Days of the new. A really dark vibe contrasting with a colorful sound (love those timpani by the way). The ONE thing that I miss is a bit more of that acoustic guitar :(

The possibilities is dynamic masterpiece. This song has a hook, a haunting melody that will stay with you, and a rhythm track that seems to be the signature of the piece. An easy transition from pianissimo to fortissimo will make your heart beat faster with excitement. A very nice fade out ending, but I found myself wishing it was a bit longer. A quality song that will make you want to find more music by ralph tomaselli.

Very Smooth Ride

Helpful

Well what can I say but another awesome song from a N1M chart topper Ralph Tomaselli !! A wide range of melody with a blend of chaos that is very pleasing to listen to. This tune elevates to another level of composing and could be on a movie soundtrack sometime in the near future !! If you have not checked out Mr. Tomaselli you are missing out on a very smooth ride with twist and turns, brilliant lyrics and A+ quality recordings ! This is another must listen on N1M !!

The Possibilities are always excellent with this artist!

There is some artist that immediately when you hear their name your interest is peeked. Ralph Tomaselli is one of those artist's. His latest effort, "The Possibilities" is a fine piece of work that is a representative example of Ralph's composition talent and vocal style which are both unique and memorable. The music is tight and very much deserving of attention. The Possibilities is a great composition in every respect.

Great intro. It's definitely one of those songs that captures your ears. Reminds me a little to Nirvana. Very talented. I believe your music has a lot of potential and deserves a five star rating. much success to you and keep up the good work.

The possibilities are endless...

Helpful

Ralph Tomaselli brings us the possibilities, and they are endless by measure to be sure. As with other songs I have reviewed of Ralph's this one lives up to them quite nicely. I find a great deal of depth and space is carved out within the mix that makes the listener beg for the song to break through... and that's exactly when it happens. The dynamic range is also well represented throughout the song. With all the touches applied through the song, the bassline could have been a bit more supportive in carving out nuances. Two tenths off for that.

Some nice things happening....

I enjoyed this piece; it has some nice qualities happening in it. The mix on my ears sounds a good deal better than most that I run into here at n1m. Nice balance. Good punchy drums and bass. Performances are good and tight as well assuming everything is performed [it's very hard to tell at times these days with such great samples available]. I like the sampled timpani. That works really well in the piece. Piece has good form and momentum. However, if I were producing this I would have you craft [or write it myself] a C section/bridge for the piece which it is currently missing. Just my opinion as a producer. I would also ease back on the effects on the vocals a bit as well. The singer sounds excellent especially for the style and mood of the song. On my ears, he's getting lost a bit in the outboard effects but that is not to say that the effects you have don't work well. They do. Maybe less is more there. THE POSSIBILITIES

MOODY VIBE GETS THIS TRACK OFF TO A GOOD START VOCAL COULD DO WITH A BIT MORE PRESENCE IN THE MIX IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SING ALONG YOU HAVE GOT TO HEAR THE VOCAL I COULD HEAR THIS SONG BEING USED IN A LICENSING SITUATION FOR A MOVIE OR ADVERTISEMENT ON THE MINUS SIDE THE DRUM TRACKS ARE TOO LOUD IN THE MIX ALSO I THINK THE VOCAL NEEDS TO BUILD GRADUALLY WITH THE SONG AND DELIVER A BIT MORE TENSION AND RELEASE WITH THE ENGAGEMENT STYLE OF IT ALL A CHANGE WOULD HELP IN THE SONG TO KEEP THE DYNAMICS COMING NOT A BAD EFFORT WORTH A LISTEN FOR ITS DIFFERENCE

Congratulations Ralph!. This song sounds really good. The melody, the guitar, the filtered voice and the percussion. With these four elements together you have got a very characteristic and personal style.

Excellent production. Interesting song. It could be longer with an instrumental break in the middle, and the vocals could be more defined in the mix. Actually, the vocals could be louder in the mix. I suppose its all about the final mastering pass here. In any case, the drums sound great! The song's concept/premise is good as well. In today's market it's all about pop sensibilities, but it seems as though this is beginning to weaken as artists like Gaga and Kesha are leading the way back to actual rock bands and human instrumentalists. This means that the real music sensibilities of the 70s are bound to return with the cycles of history that always declare what was old is new again. This music here is indicative of what is to come. Keep at it, and do not fear bringing the vocals forward in the mix so the message can come across more easily and readily. Great luck to you! -Kieron

'The Possibilities' Review

'The Possibilities' are endless when you think about how many options are out there. With Ralph Tomaselli it has opened up even more. Nice arrangement of instruments and timing and pacing. Lyrics are appropriate for this piece, with some great effects. The mix is clean and clear which can sometimes be difficult in some music. All the best wishes and may the possibilities be continuous and endless.

...potential is everywhere...

Ralph Tomaselli brings us The Possibilities, a deep and wide sonic adventure reminiscent of the larger than life stereo imagine of 80's rock with smacks of Simple Minds and "Alive and Kicking" in the imagery sense. I really dig the tonal quality in that type of arrangement and mixing. From a producer's perspective the only thing lacking in this song is some more guitar work to help with the building of dynamic tension.. yes I am biased... :P

Possibilities

This song starts off really well but doesn't Seem to go anywhere, it's well recorded Great instrument sounds and I like the vocals, across between placebo and Marilyn Manson . Great Acoustic guitar and a Good vibrant in tune voice , nice affect on the bass with that little lick near the start, would have liked to hear more of that. the main problem I think you have with this song is the chorus , I can understand the layed back lazy approach, But I feel your hitting the boundaries of boring. I really don't mean to offend and I hope you take this as constructive criticism. All the best for the future :-)

Atmospheric tune,nevertheless..Dreamy as well which I personally like it as well.Anyway what do i miss here is some kind of nice fluent guitar or piano solo .By the way I do not hear the BRIDGE.Your voice has a very nice color and all your songs are based on the quality from your voice.KEEP IT UP-Ralph&Happy New Year 2016.CHEERS

Imagine "The Possibilities"

Like falling into a psychedelic trip, the groove starts slow and hooks you by the chorus. The song is mellow and the vocal line provides a melody you will be singing along with by the end of the song. A good addition to any playlist, I look forward to hearing more of Ralph Tomaselli's musical endeavors.

The possibilities?

Are the possibilities endless? It may only seem that way when listening to this. I thought the instrumentation was creative and quite good. Unfortunately for me, I found the over all tune to be boring. I kept waiting for it to take off and go somewhere. It never did.

Great Rock song with great vocals

I like the intro and how the song is build up! The effects on the vocals are really awesome for this genre. The lyrics are easy to follow just like the music. The song is very catchy.. I think you did a great job on this song.
