Big Changes

Thanks so much for your interest in our music. N1M is an interesting platform, connecting any musician anywhere in the world with an appreciative audience. It connects listeners anywhere in the world, with music from all over the world, free of charge. We have had fun, these last few years, sharing our music with you, and hearing your thoughts about it. You have been very encouraging. And we have had success. Two of our songs ("Love's Voice" on the Christian chart and "Bad Dream" on the Rock chart) went to #1 in the nation (and top 10 in the world) last summer. More than a dozen of our songs have reached as high as #1 in Texas, on the Christian chart. Unfortunately, the money end of it is not working out. We are paying a significant amount of money into this platform, but little or none is coming back. That can be OK for a while, but a some point, it has to start paying for itself, or we just have to move on to better opportunities somewhere else. Understand, we are not in this to make money. But we have to make a certain amount of money, in order to keep doing this. You don't drive a car just so you can get gasoline, right? You get gasoline so you can keep driving your car. In the same way, we don't do this ministry to get money, but we do have to get some amount of money, to keep offering the ministry. And we have reached the breaking point here on N1M. After several years of investing in uploads and promotions, we brought out a new album, told all of you, our subscribers, and all our influencers about it, and staged an online concert anyone could attend, for free. Nobody from N1M came. Not one subscriber, not one influencer. Nobody. We had a nice turnout from our local fan base, as usual, just as if it had been a live show only. The concert was a mild success, and we have reached hundreds of listeners with the new CD. But not one of them was from this platform. I'm not questioning your right to do as you please, nor am I begging or pleading or pressuring you for money. What I am telling you is simply this: if there are artists you like on this platform, and you want them to stick around so you can keep enjoying their music, give a little. Buy a download. Make a donation. Give back in some way. It doesn't have to be much. Just a few dollars, every now and then, would go a long way. You can really make this platform hum. We have nearly 2000 subscribers and 300 influencers on N1M. If those people donated or purchased just an average of $1 each per year, it would be worth it for us to stick around. If the average was $5 per year, N1M would become one of our main areas of operation. So all I'm saying is, it wouldn't take much. In the years we have been active on this platform, we have received exactly one donation, that *might* have been from an N1M listener. We don't know for sure. All we know for sure is her name and the fact that she lives in St. Louis. But even if she is an N1M listener, one person alone cannot support an artist. So I have made the decision today, to cancel our Gold level membership. We just can't afford to keep pouring money into the drain. This means that if we share new music on the N1M platform, we will have to remove songs that are available now, and might be on your Favorites list. Sorry it has come to this, but we have to survive as a ministry, in order to keep going. Now maybe I am just going about this wrong. Maybe we are not offering you what you would be willing to support with a few dollars here and there. If there are things that you would be willing to give money for, what are they? Help a clueless old man out. ;-) You can contact me through our ministry's website, at www.sunriseministries.org. We love you and want the best for you, in all things. Peace in Christ, Phil
