We are all making a perilous passage from the way things used to be into an unknown future. The way is uncertain and much of it is uncharted. Safe arrival is by no means guaranteed. The biblical patriarch Jacob found himself in the same predicament, when he fled from his brother Esau. As Jacob's understanding of God developed, he first addressed God as the "God Who sees me", later as "God Who knows me," and still later as "God Who is with me on my journey." This is the God I know. The one who heard my cry. The one who rescued me from death. The one who still hears me, and still goes with me on my own journey, and this song is dedicated to that God. I hope it speaks to you.
