Here in the United States, our country is in crisis. We are a sovereign people, and whatever happens with our government is ultimately our own doing. If our country descends into civil war or dictatorship -- or both -- we will only have ourselves to blame. We need repentance, on a nationwide scale, because what we are doing is not working. Regardless who wins in the next election, we will remain a nation savagely divided, while the merchants of division will continue to profit handsomely. The only way out is to look within, acknowledge how we ourselves are contributing to the collapse, and sincerely repent and mend our ways. That is not happening, because most Americans are ridiculously self-righteous. We are quick to point the finger at others' faults and foibles, but so far we have been unwilling to examine our own. Nor have we identified the merchants of division, nor asked how they profit from this, and how we enable them. If we really want God to help us, we need to get down on our knees and ask what change God wants from us personally. There is no sign of it happening, so this is my prayer, because we have never needed God more than we need Him right now. Shalom to one and all, Phil
