New song release -- Bad Dream
One morning late last year, as I was waking from a bad dream, I heard the lyric, "My best friend was strangled, strangled in slow motion, while the whole world watched in horror, across the rivers, and across the oceans." I consider song lyrics that come to me in my sleep or just when I am waking up to be a gift from God, so I got up to write this down, and as I did, more and more lines flowed naturally from my pen. When it stopped, there were two verses and a chorus, so the rest of the song was pretty easy to build. I later wrote another verse, and put it second, and added a bridge
This song is different from anything I have ever written, and different from anything you have ever heard from us before. As a work of art, based on a dream sequence of images (a nightmare), it is open to interpretation. I know what it means to me, but I don't know what it will mean to you. But I can honestly say it was given to me by God, and is dedicated to His glory in Jesus Christ the Righteous.
"Bad Dream" has never been released anywhere else, only here on N1M, and today is the first day. As a subscriber, you are among the very first to ever hear it.
Also today, we are replacing our recording of our popular new song "Li Wenliang (Gone for Good)" with an enhanced version. The original was just guitar and voice, very raw, and I love that you all liked it so much. The new version is a polished professional studio version, built on the same simple and honest sound, with Chinese classical elements sprinkled in, to better honor the man. I hope you will enjoy it even more than the original version. I have never tried this before, but I believe that if you have "Li Wenliang" in your favorites list, then this new version will be in your favorites list as well, and you will hear the new version when you are playing your Favorites. If not, let me know!
May God strengthen you in your inmost heart and nourish you with His holy truth, for the living of these days,
Phil
