The service of God – Joshua 24:15 Seeking God’s kingdom – Matthew 6:33 Doing the Father’s will – John 4:34 Finishing the divine task – John 17:4 Completing the course joyfully – Acts 20:24 Attaining Christlikeness – Philippians 3:13,14 As part of a group study on what living the Christian life looks like, we were asked to arrange the above in an order that made sense to us. We ended up with various orders of preference based on where the individual believer was in relation to their own journey at that time. As it happens, I decide the order they were presented in made the best order for me and as a result wrote this song, ‘The purpose of life’. I hope you like it. First time through, the lyrics of the song are in the singular tense and the second time in the plural, (hence the doubling of the vocal line) so the song is an encouragement and reflection on the biblical statements from both a personal and corporate point of view.
