N1Music News Letter from PaulgizzMartinez
HEY! ~ Everyone! Lots to tell you in this News Letter today! I found (3) songs in my archives I want to share with you today and in the next 2 letters bringing the play list to almost 110. First one is a Universal "Polkita" instrumental with a mix of every country in it - download it 'free' to your collection.
We Tejano's took bits and sounds from Countries like Italy, Germany, Poland, Czech, France, Mexico, Spain and others that came to Texas and settled here with their music and we added our taste to it and came up with our own genre we call 'ONDA' (deep roots). I hope you like it along with some others on the list. Scroll down to hear "Mama's Pollo" (Mama's Chicken Soup) and others I did with many of my friends listed as Polkas.
Also, coming in the next Letters, I'll be sharing a "Mambo" and a Country song by Merle Haggard "Today, I Started Loving You Again" that I did 'Live' with some friends at times during the late '80's before I retired and had to get a 'real' job.
WELCOME! to all the new mailing list members from 'ALL' over the World and here in the States. I wish I could name all of you, but I'd be here a looong time. Tell your friends about it!

You may have noticed I sign out with my induction into the 'Hall of Fame' in 2015. This site will tell you all about it. It includes my mentor, Sunny Ozuna. He inspired me with his music when I was 12, 13 years old. I got 'so' good that when I was 17 in the 11th grade...I was in a band (pictured above) called Sal de Leon and the Centennials from Dallas playing Bass guitar opening the show for him, that he called 'me' back stage and offered me a spot in his band playing Bass. I'd recorded songs on the list "Segue LLorando", "Siempre Junto a Ti", "In a Moment" and "Never Gonna Give You Up". Tori Chavez in L.A. 619 did a Low Rider video of 'Never Gonna Give You Up" click on video and watch it when you get a chance.
I had to turn him down because my family would not let me quit school to do it till I graduated. The next year after I did graduate, he had backed up Archie Bell and the Drells from Houston with the song "Tighten Up" which went to No. 1 on the charts and is 'still' played today on the radio. I missed that chance by 1 year. That's life,...but I still made it into the Hall of Fame!
Anyway ~ I hope you enjoy the new song and tell your friends about it.
Oh...by the way, as a new member you can get any song not available for download 'free' just reply to this News Letter and I will send any and all you want in mp3 form, including "Rock & Roll Down in Texas".
