    Deadline to RSVP: The guest list will be finalized by midnight on March 31, 2018 (Pacific Standard Time). Admission is free for one 2017 award-winning artist or one band representative. Additional tickets may be purchased above for a nominal cost of $30 per ticket. Purchasing tickets automatically RSVP's you and your party in our system. If you are a 2017 award winner and are attending alone, you'll need to email your RSVP to gala@theakademia.com on or before midnight on March 31, 2018.

    Venue: This year's red carpet and Gala Event will be held in Pasadena, California. Once you email your RSVP to gala@theakademia.com, you will receive an email with the venue location and detailed scripting for the evening. Due to the presence of alcohol in the venue and California law, the presence of anyone under the age of 21 will be restricted. Artists under the age of 21 may still walk the red carpet, receive their honors and take photos with the executive team.

    Attire: The Akademia Gala Event is a formal event, however, you may wear attire that reflects your artistic identity provided it is stylish and tasteful (i.e. formal chic). No jeans, flip-flops, T-shirts or tank tops will be allowed.

    What to bring to the venue: Everyone in your party must bring a valid driver’s license or other form of government-issued identification. We recommend that you only bring a small purse or wallet and no large totes or bags, as larger bags will significantly slow down the security process.

    Safety: The safety of all attendees is of utmost importance. Prior to entering the limo, each guest will be checked by security for any weapons, sharp objects or potentially hazardous materials. The venue itself will be guarded by private security and the local police will also be on hand. The venue is one of the most venerated nightclubs in Los Angeles and we ask that you treat the premises, furnishings and staff with the utmost respect. Complimentary wine will be available before and during the presentation of awards. For the safety of others and for maximum benefit from the media exposure of the event, please drink responsibly.

    Limousine Transportation: Limousine transportation to the venue is complimentary for all artists and their guests. The limousines will pick up artists from the four hotels (Hilton, Green Tree Pasadena Inn, Sheraton and Courtyard Marriott). The pick-up time at each location will begin at 6:00 PM and every 10 minutes thereafter. Each limousine has a maximum capacity of 20 people. Please be prepared to relax in the hotel lobby or lounge while awaiting transportation for your group. The limousines will take you directly to the gala event. If you live in the Los Angeles area, please arrange to be at one of the four hotels by 7:00 PM.

    Admittance: Admission is free for one 2017 award-winning artist or one band representative. Additional tickets may be purchased for a nominal cost of $30 per ticket.     Media & Scripting: Please note that professional photography, video and newscamera crews will be filming you the moment you exit the limousine and throughout the evening, so please be prepared to smile. You will be free to use your own mobile phone or camera to record the event (#AkademiaAwards). Once you and your party exit the limousine, you will check in. If you pre-ordered an Akademia Award Plaque, you will be able to obtain it at the check-in table. Artists will then line up for the red carpet to receive their executive conferral and photo, while guests enter the venue.

    Akademia Award Plaque: If you already have your Akademia Award Plaque, please have it available for the red carpet entrance. You may purchase your award plaque by clicking on the following link: www.theakademia.com/plaque_order. If you choose to pick up your plaque at the gala event, please be sure to select the first option 'United States' for Country / Region. Then, after placing your order, please send an email to gala@theakademia.com with the subject header 'Plaque- Gala Pick Up'. The deadline to order your plaque for gala pick-up is March 31, 2018 to allow for design and production.

    Flight Information:

    Whether you are flying in from another state or country, the recommended destination airport is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Nearly all airline carriers fly into LAX.     Q: Can I bring my Award Plaque to the Gala Event for photos?
    A: Yes, you may bring your Award Plaque to the Gala Event.

    Q: I am an international guest, should I bring my passport to the Gala Event?
    A: Yes, you should bring your passport for identification purposes.

    Q. Can The Akademia provide me with a formal invitation letter to help me obtain my visa and attend the event?
    A. Yes, we are able to provide you with a formal invitation letter to the gala event. Please send your request to gala@theakademia.com with the subject heading: 'Visa Letter Needed' by March 1, 2018. You'll need to include your legal name, address and anticipated dates of travel and any other required information. The invitation letter will be sent to you by email as quickly as possible.

    Q: Can I send someone to represent me if I am not able to make it to the Gala Event?
    A: Unfortunately, no. As an Akademia Award winner, you must attend in person.

    Q: I live in Los Angeles. Can I drive directly to the venue?
    A: You may drive directly to the venue if you prefer not to be transported by limousine. You will need to meet your guests at the entrance of the venue prior to check-in. No guest will be allowed entrance unless they are accompanied by the artist at check-in.

    Q: Will food be served at the Gala Event?
    A: There will be complimentary wine served at the gala. Dinner will not be served at the event; therefore, it is important that you and your guests plan your meal schedule accordingly.

    Q: Will there be a coat check at the venue?
    A: No, there will not be a coat check. Artists and their guests will be responsible for the safe-keeping of their belongings throughout the gala event.

    Q: Will I be able to perform live at the Gala Event?
    A: There may or may not be live performances due to the number of artists attending. However, DJ’s will be spinning artists’ award-winning songs all evening.

    Q: Is there wheelchair access at the venue?
    A: Yes, the venue has wheel chair access.

    Q: Will there be seating at the event?
    Yes, there will be seating areas in the venue and close to the stage.

    Q: When does the event end?
