After going broke from paying people to record my music, not getting the vision that I saw, I went broke from building up my own recording gear. From analog reel-to-reel to digital multitrack, pre-amps, outboard gear, to a full fledged recording facility, with years of practice was able to achieve the sounds I wanted. I could take my time and do it right. While playing in bands, I did live sound, as well as record other bands in my studio. The music under Normal Nomadic is some of my solo works, playing, recording, mixing, and mastering all instruments to my liking. I use the recording studio as a writing tool. Sometimes I have no idea what it is I'm going to create. Something sticks, then goes through a metamorphis. Recording each layer one at a time will often take the song it different directions where I'll change original parts to accommodate new ideas. Sometimes, the song just is what it is and doesn't need any changes at all. I just love the process of being in a quiet area with a microphone and see what happens. I hope you enjoy the music.
