NEW NEWS: In the Marines, we have an expression "Reach Down and Grab A Hold!" This refers to when you're at the shooting range and it's your turn in the butts. You're downrange working the targets. You have to life the target mounts, swap the targets out, mark the hits. It's a largely boring effort except for when bad shots knock debris onto your head. Before all the targets go up, the command is given - "Reach down and grab a hold..... TARGETS get your targets in the air." Off the range, the expression is basically says hold fast, stand your ground, find the courage, man-up, grow-a set... whatever flair you prefer to sprinkle on top.
