Take the lush sound of the ocean, a setting sun, and the unmistakable melodies and harmonies of Hawthorne’s native sons, there you’ll find the music of Nathan Peter Illes. Born and raised in the South Bay of Los Angeles, he put down the sticks as a touring drummer in the late 90s to begin a career in song writing only to discover that creating music was his true passion.

His music has evolved over time using familiar melody on a blanket of different sound textures and counter melodies. As a multi instrumentalist, Nathan’s arrangements explore sounds from orchestral instruments to heavy guitars, rounded out by acoustic instruments. His songs show his time absorbing the soft rock of the 70s and 80s and alternative rock of the 90s. The vocals and vocal harmonies are sweet and dreamy with soft undertones coloring the music with lyrics that invoke many interpretations.

Nathan Peter Illes has released many singles as of late, in fact, 22 in the last 23 weeks. Live performances are rare but Nathan uses that energy in his home studio doing what he loves to do, self producing music.
