About Chris Emerson
**New Single Alert!** 'Best Friend's Couch' is out now on all major digital platforms.
Currently, Emerson is hard at work on his third album, titled **7 Year Town** The first single was **'Lemonade,'** in February, followed by the recently launched **'Best Friend's Couch.'**
Hailing from the mid Atlantic region, with roots in Kentucky and Maryland, Emerson grew up surrounded by an eclectic mix of music, from Classic Rock and Country to Motown. His musical journey began with Ray Charles's iconic track, **‘Hit The Road Jack,’** and in a twist of fate that he later was asked to open for the legend.
Before making waves on the national scene, Emerson spent years performing in the vibrant New England club circuit, sharing stages with future stars like Matt Kearney, Matt Nathanson, and Maroon 5 at venues like Harpers Ferry and The Paradise.
His talent caught the eye of industry insiders when he co-wrote **‘All Because of You’** with Leo Mellace and Charles Christopher, winning recognition in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. This success led to a coveted placement on the beloved TV series **Dawson’s Creek** and Scrubs, then a signing with Empire/BMG in NYC.
**'All Because of You'** peaked at #23 on the Billboard chart, with subsequent releases also making impressive debuts. His first album, **'Tourist,'** was launched on the indie label Monomoy Records and later re-released as a self-titled album featuring new tracks, including a Diane Warren composition. The album was produced by Steve Catizone and Leo Mellace,
and mixed by John Luongo and mix engineered by Pete Moshay. Mastering was handled by Greg Calbi.
Emerson's dynamic performances took him on an eight-month national media tour, opening for acts like Hootie & the Blowfish, Foreigner, Blues Traveler, Sugar Ray, and Grammy Award winners Sean Colvin, and Ray Charles.
After two years of touring with a full band, Emerson relocated to Nashville, where he recorded his highly anticipated second album, **'Shadow of You,'** co produced with Jamie Laritz, and Mixed by Dave (Puck) Matthews. He co-wrote half the album, collaborating with some of Nashville's finest songwriters. Despite it's potential, **'Shadow of You'** faced challenges in the evolving music landscape, yet it features standout tracks like **‘Angel In The Sun’** and **‘Live It Up.’**
With a discography that includes three Billboard singles and numerous film and television placements, Emerson is now reuniting with original collaborators Donald Poole, Stephen Catizone, and guitarist Jamie Laritz to bring **'7 Year Town'** to life. Fans can look forward to additional singles in the coming months, with the album set for release in mid-2025.
