The Bside back to the beat

Song Reviews

The energy is there from all the vocals

I was disappointed that you have unnamed artists in the song and listed only one person. You should give credit to all who participated even if there is no room on here. There is still some mixing down to do and really the lyrics will be complimented with a better beat, you can buy a beat these days for cheap on the internet just use google. Sounds like you all had a lot of fun recording vocals. The instrumental is just a simple loop. You need a real beat for this song to go anywhere. You should drop the profanity from the final mix and actually aim to hear the song on the radio. The energy is there from all the vocals and that is what is the best part about your track.

this record is unique..I like tha concept..reminds me of somethin that tha Roots should have done it... everything is good except for tha vocals volume setting (raise 2-5 db) other than that, with tha right Marketing this could be an underground classic.. overall this record is worth checking out.. keep up tha conceptual work, you have good concepts

Whoa

Man I like your flow. This is the type of hiphop I've been craving to hear for a long time. It reminds me of Tribe and Arrested Development even Blackalicious. The production is great and the lyrical content took me back to the 80's when I fell in love with hiphop. X-Clan was my thang baqck then. I want this track in my playlist. You did a great job. If I were to critique anything it would be the intro because it was loud and a bit of a shock but for real, I had to listen twice to even remember that because you got me in the groove right away. I'm getting on your mailing list and I can't wait to hear what else you come up with.

old skool

i like the repeat it allows people to have something always being entertained. it is really a old skool hip hop song. you have good flo, cadense, and breath control . i like the song purpose and the, the beat is good and has a nice boop to it. the only thing i didn't feel was all the voics in the chorus it felt clutered if you elimate that and just had smooth ablibs it would be better. nice job though.

can i make a request ?!

more music in the beat? , its very repetitive as is. the flow , lyrics , delivery was good, i like that this song isnt jus about "chasing paper" , love the lyrics here and this song is close to really good in my opinion , very old school sound

Song Review

Mixing can be better. Production quality doesn’t sound too bad. Instrumental could be better for what you’re attempting to do with this song. Chorus needs work. Lyrics are good. Helped me make the connection with the title once I listened the second time. Instrumental is a bit redundant and has no “umph” factor for me. Enjoyed the vocalists voice. Sounds like all artists were mixed on different levels. See potential in the idea of this work of art. Keep up the work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXlUAbS4JYk

I LIKE IT WHEN US INDIE ARTIST TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT, THIS TRACK WAS ONE OF THEM. THE TRACK WAS KOOL, I JUST GOT A LITTLE CONFUSED THAT THE BARS WERE MORE NOT ON THE TOPIC OF REQUEST LINE! THE HOOK WAS TO LONG IT SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE 16 BARS, THE FEMALE ON THE INTRO AND THE HOOK IS RAW. I WOULD INCORPORATE HER ON A VERSE AND REWORK THE OTHER BARS. THE OTHER VERSES KEPT TALKING ABOUT A LOT OF RAPPERS/ GROUPS. THAT'S KINDA 90'S STYLE UNLESS YOU REALLY FLIP YOUR WORDS. OVER ALL I LIKE THE CREATIVITY OF THE TRACK. KEEP IT UP.

Needs work

I dig the Old school vibe, but I'm not feeling the hook very much. I think the flow needs just a little bit of work. keep doing your thing though. it's got potential.

Song is catchy, but if your trying to make it past the local celebrity phase, please invest a bit more on the composition of the song, the editing needs a lot of improvement, it feels like the song was actually rushed and just put out to have something out. The levels on the verses need to be adjusted. The concept is great and goes well with the beat, please fix the chorus mix. Keep up the hard work, and i wish the best for you and your team.

Nice track. I love the groove. I like the fact that it has the feel of an old skool hit song and still fit to current music of now. I think its a great idea. I love everyone's vocal on the track and the guy that took the last verse has almost same vocal to snoop dog, he's tight

im usually a very constructive reviewer but i gotta b honest i barely made it thru the chorus(def below average) and within a few bars of the verse i had to shut it off. wasnt a huge fan of the voice, style or what was bein said. looks like u have a got some good reviews so just make sure to market your song in the right area or it could b a bust. overall not great

A lot of great aspects to this song. Love the rapping and the melody The samples are fitting to the beat. I would love to hear more movements to the song. Maybe some sweeping chords or drop and switch the beat. The male voice on the radio part needs better tuning and less effects to fit in with the rest of the song. The doubles need a bit less delay The "strings" need to be a different sample. The hook reminds me of early Azealia Banks. I just wanted some more hitting beats and sound. The kick needs to be a little less farty. Really enjoyed all of the song.

Well done! An out of scale male voice during the chorus/hook. It'd be fine if it followed the other voice in terms of pitch. It sorts out a nice story if not history of rap, kinda brings back memories of artists I didn't listen to much, yet a great concept. Keep it up!
