Well it easy to say I truly love your song Whatcha Doing Now. It's a catchy song which I'm sure I will be humming all day and night long. Probably be humming it in my sleep as well. Your vocals are awesome and I must say I personally think you are a very good singer/songwriter! Definitely looking forward to hearing more music from you!

Good Old School style rock/soul, and done right. Reminds me of Tom petty and John cougar Melloncamp but more modern and still very original. Some might call it country music since country has so many branches off these days into current popular music, but in my opinion, it hints toward, and feels like good ol’ classic rock n roll.... A lost art form in today’s “popular” music, not that it matters, but still imbodies all that is true musicianship and songwriting. Great guitar work, keys and beat. Vocals are just right, I’d go out to the local bar and check out their set and I’m pretty picky.

In MY Opinion

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning anothers creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is crisp and bright and clear, great guitar, and organ work, vocals are smooth and easy to understand ALL the words. I really like the beat and tempo, was easy to get into the rhythm with and tap along. This song made me want to search out more of your works. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

Enjoyable great song

This is a great recording sound and performance from musicans who understand what good music is about. Some can hear that the band had fun and really enjoyed making music together. And that gives the music magical moments. I like the introducing melody from the e-guitar, which is further repeating in this song often. After Milby Dunn begin to sing with unique vocals, the whole composition gets more various. The chorus sounds really great in a varied pitch range of the refrain. You will hear a spontanious keyboard solo in the bridge in soft hammond sound what makes the music rich and brings additional beauty into the song. The parts on the acoustic guitar sounds very engaged in the backround. This and the steady bass-line in this arrangement is an extra factor what brings more feeling into the music. The lyrics comes from the heart and touches the soul. The refrain is lovely and makes the meaning of the song engaging for me. In a way, this arrangemend sounds more creative than others. This composition is definitely professional and creative, influenced by alternativ rock, pop and country music in perfect orchestration. This great studio recording could be a radio hit. I can´t stop listen this song and I´m sure, you will like to add it. Let others know your recommendation.

Great lyrics, fun song.

Milby Dunn II part country, part pop, part modern and part retro. He melds everything together to create his own unique sound. Solid lyrics, arrangement and vocals. Overall very well recorded. Nicely done.

Happy Sound

I love a song with a joyous feel to it, and this one rings the bell really well. The vocal is just at the right level, and it displays a cool honesty in pace with the joy I mentioned. The chorus and bridge hit at just the right moment then the improvising is short sweet and works really well, so this song has a good complete feel with a good hook, all the way through. Best of luck with your continued progress. Good Job.

You have a great sound, this song reminds me of \John Mellancamp's song Jack & Diane. Same kinda message lyric and love story. Good beat, great instrumental and guitar. Excellent percussion carries the song. Good bridge and melody. I hope you are going to get to the top of your Genre in TExas and the the US charts. You can go far because you have a likeable vocal talent like John or Bryan Adams. I hope you go far, you deserve to with your talents!

Very Warm, Upbeat and Smart Song

Upbeat. Smart lyrics. A lot of energy. Can dance, relax or just relate. Brings back warm home feelings. I want to get up and kick my heals and dance. You could have this in a nice pub for sure as background music. Nice guitar solo halfway through.

Milby Dunn It Right!!!

Helpful

I played at least ten songs prior to listening to singer/songwriter Milby Dunn II. Milby Dunn II was by far the best! Generally, I dislike describing someone's work as similar to someone else's, but Mr. Dunn favorably reminded me of John Cougar Mellenkamp (Please excuse any misspelling of Mr. Mellenkamp's name, if I've done so.) "Whatcha Doing Now" is really a very appealing song. Mr. Dunn's voice is clear with good energy. Although his voice seems gentle and modern, he also has a bit of a growl that makes it interesting. The music is upbeat and the instrumentation is excellent. It is a real pleasure to hear "Whatcha Doing Now" by Milby Dunn II, and I will purchase his album so I will be able to hear other examples of his music.

Great verses, so so chorus

Helpful

Imho, 'Whatcha Doing Now' is great on many levels: the recording is very professional, the guitars crystal clear, the vocals raspy yet smooth and the instrumental arrangement tight and polished. The melody in the verses together with the lyrics set up the chorus with a lot of promise but the chorus itself, while not bad, is a bit anticlimactic. I would like to hear a more sustained and/or higher melody to kick it up a notch and less of an abrupt rhythmic phrasing structure which disrupts the flow established in the verse too much. Nevertheless, it's still an enjoyable listen and the singer has a very good voice!

Hi Milby, thankx for the review request. The intro has a nice jazzy feel to it [nice] and then when the vocals come in, the first name that comes to mind is John Mellencamp [which i'm sure that you must have heard before]. The song has a nice, catchy feel to it, and the vocals are great and clear and concise with good voice timbre throughout. The instruments are all nice and tightly put together, particularly the keyboard which puts a good moody and mellow drive to the song. The keyboard ''solo'' is particularly good, and puts a good fiery touch to it. The guitar playing is nicely under scored as well as understated, but this in no way detracts from the song. I really liked the downstrum guitar sections which reminded me of Link Wray from yesteryear. All in all, a nice, tight and catchy arrangement, which i'm sure augers well for your future successes. Well done, and keep up the good work.David

Great tone to the vocals. The song feels sweet and summery, with a lovely storytelling vibe to it. Guitar tones are clean and crispy- I especially liked the guitar solo/bridge, and the organ!

Hi mr Dunn. Nice song. Good recording. Good instrumentation. I like the message you put out. Your song makes me fantasize on meeting a new love ! Your voice is really nice; seems like you're really speaking from the heart. The recurring theme of the song, I mean the electrical guitar-tune, I like in particular, but then again, it's nicely integrated in the composition. This song has a swift and steady pace. The chord-scheme is somewhat daring, but it's ok. I'm curious for more of your music, and, though I might have posted a review of a song of yours in the past already, I will probably listen to this song again 'cause it gives me somekind of feelling of hope and freedom. Well done ! Please listen to my music on N1M and, if possible, post me a review. N1M search: spiceypete Greetings, Pieter B. from Ghent, Belgium
