Mike Masser's "The End"

Helpful

Upon your very first listen to "The End" by Prescott, Arizona based recording artist Mike Masser, you cannot help but to be deeply impressed by the musical performance, inspired songcraft and exceptional production values. While Mr. Masser's musical influences are quite evident, he has definitely achieved a unique sound that is very much his own. Highly recommended!

Contest Worthy?

Helpful

Whether this song is contest ready is a question only you can answer, Mr. Massey. I am unsure of the details or guidelines, thereof. Perhaps w/an old fashioned pros and cons list, you may find your answer. High points: Heartfelt melody, mood, in companionship w/lyrics, excellent. Low points: Vocalist audio varies in volume throughout different areas of the track. I love the energy that is presented leading up towards the end of the song. Could any of that energy be introduced earlier? If an AR person were listening, would they get to that high point before turning it off? They generally do not have the time to wait to the 3 or 4 minute point to make a call. Best of luck with this track. It was an enjoyable listen on my end. Hope this helps you with your decision. Slow start, GREAT finish!

Helpful

This tune proves that a slow start does not mean you cannot have a great finish! Interesting story, well delivered. I like this song A LOT! Ergo 4-1/2 stars... OK FOR THE PART WE ALL DREAD but need... as the song starts into the opening verses... I would suggest a bit better enunciation of the words by the singer. a tad pitchie here and there at first. Overall... lead singer "brings it" as the dynamic increases and full instrumentation kicks in... .SO my main recommendation is to clean up the opening vocals a bit and YOU HAVE A WINNER in this tune! Best regards, Johnny Mutt!..

Acoustic music is like a breath of fresh air for the ears and the soul. She embodies purity and simplicity in a world sometimes saturated with artificial sounds. This musical genre, devoid of electronics and frills, highlights the very essence of music. What appeals to me most about acoustic music is the authenticity. Artists who perform in this register offer us a raw musical experience, where the emphasis is on vocal talent, instrumental virtuosity and profound lyrics. Nothing is hidden behind special effects or studio retouching. The acoustic artists stand there, vulnerable and sincere, communicating their emotions in a raw and powerful way. Acoustic instrumentation, whether guitars, violins, pianos or other instruments, evokes a unique warmth and intimacy. The absence of distortion and excessive amplification allows each note to be savored in all its harmonic richness. Another aspect I like about acoustic music is its adaptability. It finds its place in a wide variety of genres, from folk to rock, pop and blues. Acoustic music can be calming and melancholy, but also upbeat and festive. It transcends cultural and linguistic barriers, reaching listeners from all backgrounds. Finally, acoustic music encourages contemplation and reflection. It allows us to disconnect from the tumult of daily life, to refocus on the essential, and to connect with our deepest emotions. In short, acoustic music is a musical treasure that reminds us of the beauty of simplicity, the authenticity of human emotions and the magic of art without artifice. It is an invitation to listen, feel and appreciate music in its purest form.

The End Again...

One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song the introduction with the guitar is a soft rise to Mike's vocals. Well produced and mixed, I'd expect to hear this in the background for a movie in Hollywood when 2 star crossed lovers are at a crossroads for their destiny. Is it the End? Or just the Beginning?

Hey Mike, Stunning lyrics in the m simplicity of your lyrics. A soul searching love gone wrong song lyric with deep meaning. Great acoustic and electric guitar instrumentals with an accomplished drummer and back up vocalist makes this song a chart topper. Great timing in the composition as a band makes it overall a crowd pleaser much like Phil Collins and his songs a classic Rock Track. I would not change a thing because I believe you have achieved synergy with your band members talents.

I love this kind of timeless rock songs, based on chord couples with maj7 of flat7 tunes in the second position. Actually many of my own songs contain these elements as well. Another similarity is that my songs usually get (too) long for the usual radio format - I personally would probably have tried to shorten the intro by starting with the percussion already in the first verse and add the drums in verse two, but then I'm sure I would have filled it up with a longer guitar solo in the end. So all I can say is that I like the song and that you should give it a try and send it in.
