Montreal, Quebec, November 2021 — Mike Goudreau presents his 22nd independent release “Christmas
Rendez vous”, a collection of 13 Christmas songs. This album was co produced and recorded remotely and in
studio, with long time friend, collaborator and saxophonist Dany Roy during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,
between September 2020 and November 2021.
The album boasts 5 original songs composed by Goudreau and 5 re-arranged Traditional Public Domain
Christmas hymns by Roy & Goudreau. A Christmas album would be incomplete without a few favorite classic
cover versions as well with 3 songs. Mike Goudreau sings and plays guitar and Dany Roy plays sax, trumpet and
flute as well as creating the lush horn arrangements on this festive Holiday themed recording. For this project ,
the duo reached out to 2 of Montreal’s most talented Jazz musicians, Richard Irwin on drums and Dave Watts
on upright (expired link) guests include Erich Kory on cello, Toby Wilson on dobro, pedal steel and acoustic
guitar and Antoine Fradkin on violin.
An eclectic mix of Swinging Jazz, Jump Blues, Chicago Blues, Americana, Gospel, French Cabaret and a
Bossanova styled take on a Christmas classic.! 9 songs are sung in English, 3 songs sung in French and 1
instrumental. From track 1 to track 13 , it’s a joyous and groovy mix that will leave the listener with a fuzzy
Holiday feeling they’ll want to put on repeat !
Despite being recorded in part remotely, the album is of world class audio quality with the help of one of
Quebec’s best audio engineers, Dany Legendre, who provided the mixing for this production. Mastering was
assured by Steve Corrao from Sage Audio in Nashville, Tennessee.
Since 2007, Goudreau’s songs have continued to be featured in dozens of Hollywood films and network TV
shows, and 2019-2020 was no exception with his original songs placed in films like The Banker (with Samuel
Jackson, 2020), the feature film Dark Waters (2019), the CBS TV show Dynasty (2020), and the Christmas TV
movie The Happiest Season (Hulu 2020), to name only a few.

About Mike Goudreau Band
Born in 1965 in Newport, Vermont into a musical family with an English mother and a French-Canadian father, Mike Goudreau picked up his first guitar at age 14 and hasn't stopped playing since. His early influences included the Beatles, Chuck Berry, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and later, Albert King, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Powder Blues and Downchild - to name a few. Such diverse interests help to explain why Mike is comfortable in so many musical genres, especially jazz and blues.
Since 2007, Mike's songs have been heard on hundreds of network TV shows and films, such as the Universal Pictures film ''Dark Waters'' (in theaters November 22, 2019), the Hollywood film ''The Banker'', starring Samuel Jackson (in theaters in 2020), City On The Hill (Showtime), The Flash (CW) , The Neighborhood (CBS), NCIS Los Angeles (CBS), Chicago PD (NBC), Shameless (Showtime), Life In Pieces (CBS), Bloodline ( Netflix) , Gotham (FOX) , the Hollywood film "Passengers" (2016), the TV movie North Pole (Hallmark Channel), The Fosters (ABC Family) , Defiance (FX), Hung (HBO), Memphis Beat (TNT), Friday Night Lights (ABC), Let's Make A Deal (CBS), Scoundrels (ABC) , Justified (FX) , George Lopez Show (TBS), Dirty Sexy Money (ABC ), Army Wives (Lifetime) , Kath & Kim (NBC), Auction Kings (Discovery), Oddities (Discovery), Duck Dynasty (Discovery) and Everybody Hates Chris (CW) just to name a few.
