To my dear subscribers and fans
I'm adding more as I have the time to record more, and wanted to insure that my followers who have requested being able to download the Gershwin's Summertime, Leonard Cohen's altered Halleiujah - the Police Version (https://youtu.be/1JLds14V5Zg) , and Sondheim's strongly emotional "Being Alive" from his musical "Company".
As of Yesterday, I have completed updates to my songs, which includes all my materials available for streaming and downloading. This fits the requests of several faithful listeners.
I also have included a recital accompanied by Lucy Arner. My training was in classical voice, at Indiana University where I studied with Distinguished Professor of Voice, Margaret Harshaw who rostered with the New York Metropolitan Opera, along with another vet of the Met, Marcia Baldwin. I wanted to have a strong background as a vocal coach, instructor and singer. I also had help from a lead tenor from the Swiss Opera, Glad Peterson, who founded the Utah Opera Company. I sang with the Indianapolis Opera from 1998-2007-ish. My students, age 16 and up to adults in their 40's, sing all styles of music, and a few are following teaching, or performing careers in the genres of their choice.
Classical alone is not my roots however, although I first sang Caro Mio Ben when I was ten. That song is still dear to me, as are Widmung - by Robert Schumann in German, Old Mother Hubbard by Victor Hely-Hutchinson, which is a fun romp through the nursery rhyme in English done in the style of Geroge Frederick Handel, O Del Mio Amato Ben by Stefano Donaudy, sung in Italian, and the tenor aria (Salut Demeure known as the Cavatina from the opera Faust by Charles Gounod), I'm particularly pleased that I still have that high C.
I'm a long time director and vocal coach in musical theater, jazz, country and others which I will be uploading soon. Music is the joy of my life and I love Garth Brooks equally with Simon and Garfunkel, and Pentatonix for their harmony, style and arrangements. My streaming and Cd's cover many more.... there just isn't the space to name them all. I look forward to sharing other sequences of different song genres in the near future.
