Hello Musicmakers,
We have almost escaped winter, but not so fast. Are you still trudging through the snow? Or puddles? Or just plain chilly? For some, it's a great time to snuggle indoors with a mug of coffee and a cat purring in your lap. Since we are creatives, there is a bonus to being shut-in; less time running around and being distracted by scantily clad sunners, or outdoor cafe retreats... this is inspiration time.
Some of my best (in my opinion) poetry and song were created in solitude. Sitting quietly peering out at cumulus clouds from an airplane window, or right before closing my eyes before bedtime (not a favorite time for me). Instead of numbing your brain and forfeiting your time with video games or reality TV, engage with yourself. Yesterday, I played some nature sounds music, my favorite is the ocean surf or gurgling streams. You can hunt some down from Youtube to test out your attraction or discomfort with this kind of soothing sounds. What better way to get through a dreary, gray day than hearing the ocean's tide and seagulls singing to each other? If you meditate, you are truly transported to a sun drenched sand and waves.
Winter for me this last year and now, has been about writing two new Christmas songs and learning how to speak Korean. Enjoy this verdant time for creating in peace, spring is coming to wherever you are, soon.
With much love and musical wishes,
Melody
There are many meditations, classes, etc that could be of help in settling your spirit and letting your music flow. Rejoice in the restful time that winter brings, and pull out your favorite pen... the world awaits your song.

Non Fungible Tokens are on the new music outlet horizon. Every musician and artist should be familiar with this amazing new trend.
Speak the language of millennial musicians and potentially set your music up to be available on Crowdfund, etc. It's not just another Pay outlet. With this new platform, you can turn your Fans into Ambassadors, in other words, you can Shout Out to your friends to engage them and "grow" with them. Enhance your FANDOM by creating a community of music purchasers, Tix buyers and merch supporters.
Another outlet: Gamify your music to gamers, and even creating an animated persona for your band. Think, Gorillaz, from the 90's. How engaged would your fans become if they were able to recommend content, plot, characters, etc to your "game".
Recommendation: Join ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) its free, and essential, if you ask me. They podcast on NFT's was easy to understand (and Im no tech). If nothing else, you will be able to communicate with your millennial artists and have a savvy that's Current. Best of luck!
Love to all Musicmakers!

Hey there fans and subscribers, thank you so much for helping place my song, American Girl, at #1 Power Pop song in the USA! I wrote this song years ago after 9/11 when I struggled to come to grips with world around me. When I awakened in the middle of the night on September 12, 2011 the lyrics came like like thunderous rain and the only way to translate my feelings was to rush to find a pen (I actually found a crayon instead) and led the feelings simply flow.
I say this to all the songwriters, recording artists, musicians out there... gather the rain that gathers in your head and heart. Gather it all up with a pen and paper, then share it with the world so your words help others to understand know their not alone. Your music matters!
So let it rain,

Hey ,I'm Melody and I thank you stopping by! You'll hear a range of genres from jazz, pop, dance and original songs ranging in emotional stories from my life and visions. I LOVE writing songs, poetry, theatrical works (Comedy and music for the stage). Multiple Grammy award winner, Ramsey Lewis is featured on my double CD tracks; '"Today is Someday" (original song) and "Still in Love" by Al Green. Jazz piano magic! My debut CD, "Travel Me" displays the broad spectrum of my truth in sound and prose.

I'm attaching a song I wrote a few years ago and have tinkered with it since. It has the elements, its just not quite there. Needs a pro mix/master for sure.
What do you think? This celestial jazz tune wants something - what do you think it is? I'd totally love ideas and suggestions.
Having a good time over here, how about you?
Peace

Hello Music Makers,
I am really excited to hit #1 Dance Song, USA this week! It feels so fabulous to feel its energy go broader and touch more listeners. This track by Box Scaggs is so cool and reinterpreting it was a lot of fun. Very sassy and, well, lowdown.
Be well and happy Music Makers,
