I'm attaching a song I wrote a few years ago and have tinkered with it since. It has the elements, its just not quite there. Needs a pro mix/master for sure.

What do you think? This celestial jazz tune wants something - what do you think it is? I'd totally love ideas and suggestions.

Having a good time over here, how about you?
Peace

Hello Music Makers,
I am really excited to hit #1 Dance Song, USA this week! It feels so fabulous to feel its energy go broader and touch more listeners. This track by Box Scaggs is so cool and reinterpreting it was a lot of fun. Very sassy and, well, lowdown.

Be well and happy Music Makers,

Hello Fans,

I'm excited to share with you that my double CD is extractable from its original format. Here's the story: I only recently found out that a hard drive (any kind) has a shelf life of only 5 to 10 years. After 5 you should transfer it onto a new hard drive to ensure the integrity of the data. Who knew??!

I've lost a few songs that were finished, polished, and produced professionally. My biggest fear was for my Jazz/Dance double album, titled Today is Someday. To lose 19 tracks?! OMG. So, if you have music that was recorded in Sound Designer or a version of ProTools older than ProTools 8 - better head to a studio to see how/if your hard drives open. ProTools 12 is coming out and that will make 8 even older. Mine were recorded in 5.1 - imagine my shock. ProTools is making zillions off of their "new" versions, while repealing support for the older versions recorded on their equipment. Not cool. Not at all.

The good news is that my producer in Chicago, Vince Lawrence of Slang Music Group had a mid-2000's computer so he could offload the songs and is transferring them onto ProTools 10 and they're opening and workable. At some point, I'm moving over to Logic. Til then, at least I'll have my music... so you can have my music.

Music comes from the heart, and words cant express my sorrow when I thought so very much had been lost. I urge all my fellow music makers to take out your masters with a producer or engineer and Archive, archive, archive!

Thank you for being my fans! Happy Thanksgiving,
Melody Bromma
