Time to release a second song!

"The Girl with the Million Dollar Smile" Is song no# 2 from my collection of new solo material. On this outing I went for lots of space, keeping the bass line sparse and syncopating off the root notes on the verses with harmonics. The verse guitars falling neatly between the bass and fleshed out with lovely melodic piano work and spot on great percussion work. The over all feel I'd describe as Bossanova, with my usual Jay Cavanaugh NYC twist. I feel that all the players involved did outstanding work especially in the bridge section. The Lowden acoustic guitar, and the amazing drums n percussion resembling a bit of Brazilian carnival goes to a whole new level with the soaring completely improvised Piano solo which gives me chills when ever I listen to it. Plus, catch that awesome strange guitar chord just before we come back for the final chorus! (I love a good surprise) Note: This piano solo is a complete one take performance, I instructed the keyboardist to visualize the woman of his dreams the one who floats his boat and this is what he played. BTW, the woman he visualized is now his wife.) Engineer and coproducer Mario Salvati labored to make the material from rough tracks to finished product with maximum warmth to capture that old school analog sound. It's a sound I hope to transport it to vinyl eventually. I could keep on blabbering enough about the super percussion, guitar and piano work on this number, but enough of my ramblings, best to just hear for yourself. Enjoy, 4 more songs to go! Ciao for now!
