I wanted to take this time to share the story behind my song posted here called The Meadow. This is the second of many "Behind the Music" updates that I will be trying to get out to you. My hope is to give some insights into what inspired the songs that I have written and share them with you, my loyal listeners. The story behind the song “The Meadow”

The vision behind this song was based on the story of a child who would run to the meadow in troubled times when life got hard. It was where he/she would go to find peace and pray. It was a place of serenity, a place where they felt loved. The Meadow ultimately brought this child to God….Years later, the child returns to the Meadow and remembers how it was a place of safety and peace. It was in a word “home”. As I wrote this song, I couldn’t help but think about the correlation between The Meadow and our Heavenly Father and the peace that He can provide in one’s life. I would think about all of those times in my life when I was struggling and I asked myself, “Where was my Meadow, or my place of peace? To whom or what did I run to when times got hard? Did I run to The Meadow? Did I run to God? Where did I find peace?” Of course now, that answer for me is… I run to God…well most of the time, anyway.. Ok, I confess… I still struggle and worry and sometimes that doesn’t help my judgement.
The thing is, we are all human… We all have our struggles in life and sometimes it’s hard to find peace…anywhere. So, tell me…When the storm comes in life, when the waters rise and the bow breaks, when times are hard and there’s no peace in sight. Where do you run? Do you run to God? Do you run to the Meadow? Where do YOU go to find peace?

Just Believe - Acoustic (Behind the Music)

The story behind the writing of the song “Just Believe” comes out of those times of desperation when our immediate human reaction is to blame God for everything that is going wrong in our lives and then remembering and realizing His grace in our lives. He knows the place we are at in our lives and understands our past, present, and future in His glory. He simply asks for us to “Just Believe” and have faith that all things will work out in “His” glory and that all things will be revealed in Him. All of these things will be revealed on His time frame, not ours. We may not understand our current circumstances or why things have turned out the way they have but He knows and He simply asks for us to have faith and believe. He simply asks for us to have faith and to know and believe that He will always be by our side and that, as our Creator, He knows our needs before we even know our own needs. He will calm that storm, He will be with you in that valley, and He knows our every need…If we “Just Believe”.
