New York Blues Hall of Fame Inductee, Nikki is Mama SpanX bandleader and lead vocalist,, the name given to her by her friend and collaborator, the late great soul/jazz guitarist Melvin Sparks. Nikki has toured all over the eastern seaboard, France and Germany. Nikki is bi-coastal and happy to be "Mama" to the Spankers!

When Mama was looking for a single that would make a good "Old School" party track/dance video, Beedo,(Originally drummer for Philly's Soul Survivors and later drummer for Etta James) who was at the first MX showcase, loved the band and contacted us with "Let's Roll". Mama added lyrics and a bridge and then brought Beedo in to do the Lead male vocal. The tune turned out so well, with it's James Brown groove,and everyone jumps right up on the dance floor!

Harlan was the final piece in the puzzle to Mama SpanX "State of Groove" recording, coming in at almost the last minute after our original keyboardist had to drop out. He is the perfect fit bringing tasty licks, pads on B-3 and gorgeous piano work to add the finishing touches. Oh and all with a touch of class!

So lucky to have this man on our team! He is a great guy, he plays his butt off in every situation, helps on arrangements and has that perfect tenor tone. Steve is also brilliant on soprano sax!

Steve, with Pork Pie hat and home made guitars, can play anything, anything style and is a great on rhythm guitar as he is on soloing...he hits the pocket and we take off like a rocket!
