Leaf Jumpers - Half Mile Away

Cool sound with a fistful of decent country music. Clean harmonies, professional playing, not too sweet. Cuold play this one while driving along the roads anywhere. Definitely recommended!

Rock with a strong dose of country. Nice!

In my mind this is rock with a strong dose of country. Interesting combination. The drums, guitar and power/distortion guitar are excellent and work very well with the vocals. The vocals are clear which is always a plus. The second section of the song is introduced by stronger drums and distortion guitar which heighten tensions and interest. A third stage is introduced by some guitar riffs which starts quieter but soon explodes to the end. A nice rock song in the style of a power ballad.

A new Leaf

Great strumming starts our journey into and a simple and steady southern fried rocker. As the build happens, sharp percussion joins the fray and powerful and distorted rock chords start to hammer. Lead vocals are clean and fit with the feel of the track. The bridge is a cool and gentle pause from the otherwise rowdy piece. One can hear the influence of bands like Molly Hatchett and the Allman Brothers, and maybe even a bit of 38 Special in the classically styled and well produced track. It is a good bet that this crew can really keep things going at the honky-tonk. Definitely worth checking out more of their original southern retro-rock sound. Some really nice work.

A Great Summer Song On A Cold Winter Day

On a cold February day here in New York, Half A Mile Away has the sweet ability to transport you to a mid-summer outdoor festival in the mountains. An all around feel good vibe. Thanks for the tune! "Half A Mile Away" closing in!

Wonderfully produced and mixed! This is a really good song; well written, well sung, and well played. Thoughtful lyrics, and a cool vamp in the middle, this song has what it takes to go cross-genre. It is definitely radio-ready, and I wish you the best of luck.

Country rock at it's finest

I love the acoustic riff at the beginning of the song and once the vocals came in it sounded very country rock. Vocals are nice clear. Once the song kicks in it all becomes very commercial and could see this song on daytime radio without a doubt. Great backing vocals come in around halfway through the track just before the breakdown. As with all songs these days it could've done with a kicking solo towards the end there.

Great Tune

I've never been asked really to review anyone before so I hope I do well. The song overall is great. The vocals are nice and reminds me of some classic rock bands I grew up listening to courtesy of my mom. I could definitely see this being played on rock radio stations. Sound and engineering seems to be done very well! The vocalist stood out to me having a nice soothing voice but still maintaining that rock edge. Whoever wrote this song did a very good job! This is a great tune and even though I don't personally listen to much rock music I'll definitely be listening to this!

I'M LOOKING

WHAT I'M USUALLY LOOKING FOR IN ORIGINAL MUSIC IS ORIGINALITY. THIS SONG ITSELF HAS ALLOT OF POTENTIAL AND WHAT THIS PRODUCTION IS MISSING IS JUST THAT...SOMETHING SURPRISING. THE INSTRUMENTAL PARTS COULD PRESENT SOMETHING MORE THAN EASY SCALES FOR THE FEATURED LEAD INSTRUMENT.. AS FAR AS PRODUCTION AND PERFORMANCE, "HALF A MILE AWAY" IS DONE QUITE NEATLY AND HAS A DEFINITE APPEAL TO A BROAD BASE, I'M SURE. I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HEAR IT A BIT FASTER...THERE'S A BIT OF A DRAG ELEMENT HERE BUT OVERALL ITS A GOOD JOB.

thoughts

once again an awesome track. never ceases to amaze and turn a head. everything is so humble and the content is good,. the vocals are killer as always and the lyrics masterfully written. I hope to hear more because this is what many need to hear. music is a passion not a paycheck and thaty is why I think you come out so good

Leaf Jumpers / Half A Mile Away

Ok, This song is written very smooth. I think labling this song as ROCK does this song a great injustice. the song is very modern country / blues. I like it. Reminisent of Allman Brothers, just more on the country side. Go with your natural feel, I think you would be pleasantly supprised as to what will happen to the songs.

REVIEW... READ

Laid basic, classic rock feel, solid vocals, decent rythm to intro...like tag.. lacks some back up singing... I think would help, Drums need to come in a little strong for the pick up...it could use back up vocals that follow a few sections..ok there is some during the chorus.. nice... tell the drummer to pick up the fills in the chorus... with some tom work.. nice bridge.. ALICE IN CHAINS? Lol.... Does the song have a lead? Great recording... the kick could been a lil more punchier... the vocals at the end need to get alot more aggressive... instead of being mono like the other ones.. OVER ALL NOT BAD, VERY SOLID GROUP... JUST ADD A LITTLE MORE ASS IN THE STYLE... Not bad guys

Half a Mile Away

This is a good song, nicely crafted. Vocally, it kind of reminds me of Grand Funk Railroad (I'm your captain). Very enjoyable listen, well mixed. enjoy

Half a Mile Away

I like the Beginning Guitar and how it Seems to Carry you into the Song. The Genre sais Rock, but there is a very Strong Influence of Country Music. The whole Song in all is a Good Song to Listen to. The Recordind and Mix is very well Done. You know it's not Recorded in someone's Basement. I like the Song, but the only thing of Concern is I feel Ripped off because the Genre Said Its a Rock Song. Anyone can tell that this is a Country Song, and a Pure Country Song at that. There are Maby Three, Power Five Chords but that doesn't make it a Rock and Roll Song. Having said that, I Definitely give this Country Rock Song a Pass for sure. No matter what Genre of Music it is.. Thanks .. Scott Rees...
