Eszter Strausz

Flute Player Saxophonist Lyricist
As a student of Gábor Kollmann and András Somos she has been studying at the jazz (soprano) saxophone and flute department of Bartók Béla Music Conservatoire from September 2008. She studied improvisation from Gábor Winand, and further classical flute studies from Miklós Jutasi. She took part in summer jazz improvisation courses, where she took lessons from Mihály Borbély, István Elek, and Viktor Tóth. She won Best Wind Award at the Paks Jazz Competition in 2007. She was founding member of KvarTonus. Her present projects are: Kokopelli Jazz Matiné – jazz concerts for children, lyrics and arrangements written by her. Beside she found and operates the VVV Jazz Club in Esztergom (H) with László & Niki Vörös, where they plays with the most of the hungarian best of jazz musicians.

László Vörös

Pianist Piano Teacher Composer
As student of Tibor Márkus he graduated at the jazz piano department of Erkel Ferenc Music Conservatoire in 2007. He took jazz improvisation courses where he learned from Károly Binder, István Regős and János Nagy. He obtained Best Pianist Award in 2007, Best Composer Award in 2008 at the Paks Jazz Competition. He founded KvarTonus Jazz Quartet in 2006, working with the band as composer and band leader. He is also pianist of the Vörös Nikolett Quartet, where he plays with György Jeszenszky and Tibor Csuhaj-Barna. He was founding member of KvarTonus. His present projects are: Kokopelli Jazz Matiné – jazz concerts for children, songs written by him. Beside he found and operates the VVV Jazz Club in Esztergom (H) with Eszter Strausz & Niki Vörös, where they plays with the most of the hungarian best of jazz musicians. In 2019 he founded his first very own project: Red Stones Quartet, where songs mostly written by László, played together with: Richard Szaniszló (vibraphone), Ádám Bögöthy (bass), Tamás Hidász (drum), and guests: Eszter Strausz (flute and sopr.sax) and Niki Vörös (singer).

Tamás Geröly

Drum Teacher Drummer
Jazz drummer, teacher at Bartók Béla Music Conservatoire in Budapest. Past and present partner of excellent musicians working on establishing jazz based on Hungarian music: György Szabados, Mihály Dresch, István Grencsó. Plays the drums in several composition of choreographer-dancer Joseph Nadj working in France. Played in the bands of excellent guitarist Gábor Gadó and in the Dél-Alföld Saxophone band. Often performs with sensational folk singer and taleteller András Berecz. Member of Tatros band, playing traditional Moldovan-Gyimes region folk music. Also played with Peter Kovald, Johannes Bauer, Frank London, Laurent Blondiau, Paul Termos, Roscoe Mitchell (Art Ensemble of Chicago).

András Csizmás

Double Bass Player
He gained admission to the jazz department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 2006, where he studied from József Barcza-Horváth, Róbert Benkő, Balázs Berkes, Tibor Csuhaj-Barna, Gergely Járdányi and Attila Kis. He was awarded Best Bass Player in 2007 at the Paks Jazz Competition. He is an extremely busy bassist, member of numerous bands.
