Klio is the queen of chaos. From the her lyrics to her presence, the New York born singer and songwriter thrives in her darkness and brings light to the meaningful details. It is a vulnerability that she has been cultivating her whole life,and it resonates through her visual lyrics, broken tones and bending notes. It's that type of rawness that will bring her to remind you of Amy Winhouse or Sade, but with an energy all her own.

Born a blend of ethnicities including Filipino, German, and Irish, Klio was born in New York and raised in San Francisco, France, and Hawaii. She will casually tell you "my life story needs and attentive 30 minutes if you want the short version," as her mother has been married 4 times and she spent most of her childhood between France and San Francisco with her adoptive step father.

Klio has experimented with different genres as much as she has travelled, starting with Opera at the age of 11, to then rebel her way into Jazz and later Soul music at 16. "My expermenting with different genres has always mirrored my phases in life, when I did Opera I was so innocent, getting into Jazz definitely awakened my rebellious side." She even dabbled in Rock for awhile with a band called Live From Paris, produced by Cobaine Ivory of Charlie Red.

Spending a lot of her life travelling, Klio returned to her birthplace of Manhattan in 2010 and made several records with the Modern Soul Collective, working with some of the best Gospel/Jazz musicians of our time including several members of Prince's NPG band including arranger Philip Lassiter.

Klio has returned to California, where she is crafting her unique sound and working with several production teams at Paramount recording studios and Lineage studios in Hollywood. "I have always molded my voice to other people's sound, it's time for them to mold to me." She has started singing in French again, and has organized "Virago Sundays" a networking event showcasing her closest friends in music including the likes of Adesuwa (Denitia and Sene), Nova Rockafeller, Blimes Brixton and many more to come.
