Keyako / About
Keyako Perry was born in Harlem, NY with music coursing through his veins. He began rapping at the early age of 11 and since then has gone on to compose beats for himself and various local artists. He has received radio play on Baltimore’s 92.3 for his hip hop compositions. Keiko has done myriad shows locally and in major U.S. cities, including a performance with Dougie Fresh in Harlem, NY when he was just 17 years-old. Since then Keiko has started a new band showcasing six or seven different genres of music. The band’s influences are an eclectic list that includes Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, James Brown, Biggie, Tupac, Beanie Segal, and Rage Against the Machine. Keiko himself is learning both the harmonica and the Native American flute to incorporate into his band. He also produces, composes beats, studio engineers, and manages an R&B/Dancehall artist.
