Great song

The drums in the introduction captured my attention right away. Then, the guitar part was very interesting. It is playing a counter melody which uses chromaticism (going up and down by half steps) which really gives this song a different feel. The voice also moves by half steps later on. I noticed that there is someone singing along with the lead voice, but an octave above. This, combined with the use of half steps, gives the song a spooky, creepy mood, which I like very much. It reminds me a bit of something John Fogarty would do with Creedence Cleerwater Revival (like Run Through the Jungle). I don't mean that it sounds like that song specifically, just in style. Your song sounds unique and not too much like any other song. I like what you did in the middle guitar solo also. Overall, it's a hit. Congratulations!

Cool haunting vibe!

Very original cool song. Haunting keyboard riff keeps the mood rolling all through the song. Nice mix of various instruments. Guitar solo fits well - nothing complicated... just plays off the keyboard riffs and grooves. Vocal effects are cool - doubling lead vocal suits this song well, and the two distinct voices blend well as one. I am not sure that the drum intro fits the song that well... as it varies quite a bit from where the song goes once it kicks in, but hey - be original and play it like you feel it. I can see people in costumes dancing to this song at a party and loving it. Great work - keep that party vibe going!

Driving well ...

The title does not stir as it goes through continuously. Personally, I favor music with noticeable amplitudes ... Quasi the classic style, where you are taken on the journey into a story. Where one laughs with, cries with, screams with and keeps silent ... But this title, which for me personally does not correspond - I like it anyway and is ideal for listening to on the highway, at a relaxed 200 km / h. :-) So you can congratulate, your own, not everyday title !!!

Surprising

Hey John You really took my ears by surprise. The song is very interesting. I would love to hear it reproduced with more clarity (mainly the drums sound muffled). Initially, I heard a Led Zeppelin sounding riff but then the keyboards and vocals came in and it is very original. B-52s meets Zeppelin and the Doors. Cool guitar solo. I like the touch with the vibrato. There is such a collage of music, I almost thought I heard banjo in the background. Nice finish as well! Leave 'em hangin! Overall, very creative! I would love to see your music collection! INteresting influences for sure!

Hi John, Here's what I'm hearing..... The kick drum is a wee bit loud... It sounds right on the verge of distortion... By far the loudest element in your track. I would re-visit that and then try playing your mix on multiple sound systems to check your balances... Studio... headphones,,, your car... your friends gear..... Second......If it were me I would check out the different New Orleans styles and grooves. There is a wealth of information and I think your overall pocket will work better and feel better when it's in the style of authentic "Cajun". A good source would be Dr. John..... he's the acknowledged master of this genre and you can't go wrong learning from him. The song by itself is a nice start..... The hook works well...but you need to "color up the "Cajun" woman more....more descriptive phrases about what attracts you to her. The re-write stage is where you get to zero in on what's working and those elements that seem fuzzy... If you have any questions about anything in your song...replace it... if you hear / notice it... so will other folks... Another good thing to consider is to get a mix of something you like in the genre you're composing for.... so you'll have the ability to A / B between the two songs for a comparison of the overall sound.... This is a good tool that will help you grow as you continue down the path of songwriting. Suggested song to listen to might be "Baby Likes To Rock It" by The Tractors Hope this is helpful in some way. Good Luck and Keep Writing! RW

Cool stuff

Lots of potential due to the unique polyphonic blending melodies of the keyboards and guitars. It sounds as if a drum machine was used. And using a real drummer would add a great deal of pop and stress points where needed and could bring more flavor to the structure.

Plain

Ok first off i would like to say that i think the title of the song is very original, the structure on how you wrote the song is on point as well, the only thing i would have an issue with is how plain it sounds, the music seems to be really slow catching threw out. the lryics of the song for me is what keep me interested, but ultimately the music has to catch the listeners ear as well.

peculiar song

Hi John. This song really is intriguing man. Sounds to me like you met a really peculiar woman. Musically speaking, it's well recorded and it certainly contains some of that Southern feeling. I like your voice. The style of the music is really new to me; it's like you mix elektropop with new-wave( die Neue Deutsche Welle, remember; Kraftwerk, Grauzone,...) and at the same time put quite some blues in it. Hey. That's interesting... What you should try, but I mention that in almost all of my reviews, is make the composition a bit more elaborated. This way the tune gets really stuck in the head. The end of the song could have been better too. But hey. Keep writing ! Pieter B. from Ghent, Belgium Check: N1M search: spiceypete

70's?

This music sounds like swedish alternative music during the 70's. I guess it could work on festivals and you can dance along to the medium tempo. It is not "hit-parade music" but that's not a bad thing. I enjoyed it anyway. Keep it up John.

Hello John !

J'ai bien aimé ce titre, à la musique répétitive dans le bon sens du terme. Une musique composée à partir de 2/3 boucles avec une voix en adéquation. Beau timbre de voix qui colle parfaitement à l'atmosphère musicale
