Kick Back With This One

Occasionally I get word of the kind of music that inspires me to continue on my creative journey. Tips hat to you sir. This is the true essence of a Blues song. A story being told as much by the lyrics as the interplay between the instruments. Each taking their turn to tell a part of the story. The rawness of the vocal caught my attention straight away. For a live recording the nuances are captured so well. Those licks on the guitar so feeling it. Bass is sublime could not be more on point really being the glue of the cohesive sound. Never too intrusive .. never too timid. The flourishes on the keys are a delight to the ears. And oh those drums, strong when they need to be. If you haven't already this should be released commercially in my humble opinion. Just hitting all of the right spots.

It's a Bitch!

The vocals are well-done guitar intro was typical but I loved the content and hook. Very tight, well-produced, and not over the top with effects or whatever. Straight up blues and that's what I like to hear. Very well done and I'd certainly listen to this artist as a favorite play.

Jam on!

Being that lead guitar is my main instrument. I loved this right off the bat! Then we have the vocals. Could not ask for a better vocal sound. The music is just great. The performance was great all the way around. My only issue, & it's just my personal opinion, I could do with out the language & calling women a bitch. Other than that great job.

Aye- Over 10 Minute Tune

Gravely voiced artist sings about the women in his life from a bit of a misogynistic outlook. This is electric blues. The guitar is noisy and overdriven/or distortion effect on guitar. Some very individual sounding blues soloing riffs on guitar. Keyboards properly playing the changes stylishly. Keyboard sounds very clear-probably not an acoustic/Steinway etc. I sure hope this was recorded live because it has cheering at the beginning and at the end. Vocals tending towards the Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart, Howlin' Wolf, Blind Willie Johnson-but softer in delivery. Guitar work professional, individual style and choice of riffs. So some kudos for originality in that sense. Keyboard, drums, bass all sound pro. Overall fine effort-but . . . Lord help me the tune is over 10 minutes-I want a sample, not a 7 course meal.

Review of The Bitch Woman Blues

First off, I want to say that I'm a big Blues fan and that's mainly what I play. I really enjoyed John Anthony Sauciers The Bitch Woman Blues. I think it's a very good song and Johns guitar playing is very good and he sings from his heart. You can really feel the blues in this song. I really like it a lot.

The Bitch Woman Blues by John Anthony Saucier

Unfortunate title in this day and age, but I doubt if John gives a damn. That's the strange attraction of this song. Authentic, gritty blues and fiery guitar. Kicking against the grain, John recounts a succession of women he has had relationships with and every one turned bad, making John the loser. He's angry and that comes through. Goes on a bit at over ten minutes, just as you might expect. Takes no prisoners and sounds tough and authentic. He ain't happy but he can play that guitar and sing the real blues.

Great Band, Great Blues

John Anthony Saucier is a bona fide blues man. Screaming leads. Tight-as-a-duck's-(you know what) rhythm section!!! John Anthony has a good gravely Blues voice. The piano/keyboard player is most definitely a bad-ass. This is where I have to say that the subject matter of the song is little harsh. The Blues genre is rife with the singer/songwriter complaining about their lover/mistress/wife/husband/etc. and their misdeeds, infidelity etc. But they usually stop short of name-calling and insults. In my experience, they usually find more creative ways of referring to the subject of their ire in more creative and imaginative terms. This is a well produced, well performed recording of a very good band. Unfortunately, I feel that the writing was just a little too starkly insulting for my tastes and could be a little more creative. I DO look forward to hearing some more from John Anthony!!

Great Traditional Blues!!

I immediately loved this with its great guitar, piano and organ sound and great husky voice. I don't see how anyone cannot like blues. This has a great feeling of swing and flow and a real passion!!

Review of a true blues tune

Come on now tell it like it is blues man John A Saucier has this tune brought into being by his loud and rowdy crowd, a driving drum beat and a set of twangy strings that gets your body moving and then the killer raspy voice of the blues man uplifts the electric guitar to a fenzy and the deed is just beginning , I am listening for the ivory to come in and drive it home , the story must come on in and pull that crowd to the point of no return , at this point I expected to hear a sax ! Oh well that’s the only thing I might recomend to this great tune talking about a aBitchy woman and then here comes that ivory and I got Togo back and forgive the lack of the sax , I seldom move the slide to the very top but I must this time ! I can’t be still way to go my friend get bringing us the best tunes out there truly enjoy your jive! Great work thanks!

Bop review

Hi I’m here ready for another review, this has all the making of a classic blues/shuffle song. A good 12 bar shuffle. The bass and drums are in the pocket and the guitar riffs are rocking. I love the keyboards hidden in the back filling out the song. The vocals are definitely right on for this music.for a live track this tune was well engineered and produced I love the honky tonk piano. This is a great track of rhythm and blues.

East Coast Blues

Song has a nice feel, and instrumentation. Reminiscent of a sound from Chicago.. Good recording and who hasn’t had an experience that falls under this category! Singer has a very distinctive tone and I like the Groove!

Bitch Woman Blues

This song jumps right out of the box. Straight ahead Chicago blues. Musicians are tight & sounds to be recorded live. I liked this. I would have liked to have heard the vocals a little more up front, but can't quibble with the overall sound. I will be looking for more in the future from John!

Appalling

This really stinks out this site. Is he muttering in the background about something or other? Hard to tell. The title is worse than derogatory to women and suggests that he has been found lacking in some way, probably physical. One can only hope that he finds solace in booze or drugs or maybe even a fellow miserable soul, i.e. another man. Incidentally, the music is tedious.

Bad Relationship Ju JU

I liked a lot of things about this song. I liked the concept of explaining the circumstances surrounding unsuccessful relationships. the instrumentation of piano, guitar, and organ made for a nice mix. The guitar comes in heavy from the start a bit to distorted for me. I would have liked to hear a cleaner sound to balance the quality of the singers voice. The vocals were great for a blues tune like this. There are many places where the length of this song could be shortened. The intro is long but sets the stage. some of the choruses could follow two verses . I bailed after about 5 minutes in and read the lyrics. 10 minutes is too long for such a redundant rhythm track. Do some editing and you have a good blues tune. BC
