Song Reviews

Great Raw Honesty

I like your song it has a great raw Honesty to it. It's rocking. IYour writing style reminds me a little of Johnny Cash starting out then towards the end it changes to more of a rocking British rock style. I like it. Keep on Rockin John I hope you are having Happy 2022 God Bless You

well written

Old school rocker with a 60's inspired harmony guitar line finds itself being catchy. A few things to tweek, so I'll dive right in. Opening line gives the vocals the front and center spot. Nice balance between the bass, a high end guitar line and a gentle touch on the bell of a cymbal allows us to hear the words, When the "whole" band kicks in, the vocals take there now accustomed place buried in the mix with a bit too much effect to discern what is being said. The other issue is the constant noodling by a lead guitar line that is more of a distraction from the song than an asset. It would be far easier to appreciate the songwriting if the guitar was not such a detriment and the vocals were more prominent. This appears to be a fun, well written song from what is discernible, and it would be nice to be able to appreciate it in a more stripped down format.

Good song!

This is a fairly basic recording, the song is ok, but not presented as well as it could be. In todays world we have a level of expectation of sound, and "ear candy" in recordings. The lack of this sound quality affects the listening experience. It does not sound like it's mastered, and I would recommend LANDR (Google them) who offer two free masterings per month. The applause added in tokes away from the song,; it's not live. Overall, again the song is ok, it's just not presented as we now expect to hear music presented. It's like ordering a steak at a restaurant and out comes a slab of meat. Instead, add a sprig of rosemary, a baked potato with butter, and you have a more appealing visual presentation of essentially the same thing with sound recordings. (More visual presentation is like more listening enjoyment!)

So when ever you can take some time from your busy schedule let me know and we can talk about Gustavo and hopefully what I tell you it will help you with him he is a good kid I wish he was mine too but he is not. So I dont want to step out of line of what our beliefs are and how to raise him but sometimes the mistakes we make what we believe in and it could effective short and long term enjoy the rest of the day and your evening. Take care

Hello there, Let's start with the lyrics part. You stayed within boundaries of genre, safe text, good story, not original, but hey - how to be original talking about love. A very hard job. But, you got it right, it's not cheesy and cheap. All in all, maybe not a masterpiece but it's totally O.K. Secondly, let's talk about arrangement & structure. Pretty much the same story in this department. Solid song structure with decent live performance. Not perfect, but good. So, let's say instrumentation is pretty much solid. The vocal performance is not perfect, but with a lot of energy and emotion-driven, which is a must in this genre. Raw, primal, strong vocal. I will not judge about production value, mix, master, etc...this is a live show. I don't have any serious bad points to put my finger on, so I'm gonna finish my review. Mych more could be said if this was a studio recording. I wish you all the best! Cheers!

This is one of those retro songs that sounds like it came right out of the '70's. It has a nice guitar track throughout along with a solo that sounds like it should have been on a Guess Who LP. Your vocals sound like they are being help back this time instead of belting it out there. And the canned applause only takes away from the song and should be dropped. You have many songs that, even having been recorded quite awhile ago, have merit and could be contenders, if re-recorded in a good studio. I would like to see where your writing is going today. Submit some of your latest work, even is rough with only acoustic guitar or piano. It would be good to see where you have come since writing all these other songs.

Good effort, but confusing.

This song is trying to be too many different songs poured into one. The beginning of the song almost lost me, as the vocals were not very on key and weak sounding. Then it got my attention for a bit with a different rock feel and added (much needed at this point) drums. However, I felt the guitar solo and vocal jamming at the end got weak again. The guitar soloing is pretty weak, and some of the chord changes don't seem to blend with the melody much. I felt there was some good potential, but the song just didn't get there for me.... especially the vocals. I'm also assuming the "audience" was canned...

Surf rock feeling

The instrumentals are fantastic, I got a cross between Jeff Healy and the beach boys, two bands I do thoroughly enjoy. The only suggestion I would make is with the equalization, it's hard to hear the vocals. Keep up the good work!

Expressive Rock Tunes

Really powerful piece. The singer has in any case a rather dynamic voice and unique vocal projection. The lyrics come from the heart and touching the soul. The engaging drums and bass-line convincing me. I like the rough e-guitar which is playing the main role in the arrangement. The distortioned solos increasing the tune and making the song creative. Rock music fans who looking good music will like to add him. Let others know your recommendation.

Rebel Indeed

One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song blues reigns supreme. Vocally, the levels or mixing or post-production have John sounding a bit too far in the background. But his passion and style are earnest and is a perfect song for a club performance on a Saturday night.
