Song Reviews

Starting with a Chorus

Songs that start with a chorus usually have a simplified chorus so it sticks with you listening. The hook is clear but the rhyme scheme is not so easily picked up in the chorus. You need a punch or some clever line where the audience goes yeah. The music is quite fun. I only counted one really long verse or perhaps you count in as two but it does not have your usual structure. Being different is not a bad thing but it but have something that makes it cool so having a non standard structure is ignored. The is something there but if it wasn’t for the music being fun then the lyrics are not that memorable. Not trying to be mean and it is just one listening but if it was me I would restructure it with clearer verses and a story which is more memorable. Good tune.

Don't break this Heart

Well Done John,Catchy Tune, depending upon your interpretation I feel it's pretty good , I would have chosen a more melodic smooth ballad style. Might be worth a try. What do you think? However, It's your song, Good Luck with Gary.

Mending This Heart!

One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song John Saucier brings another fun rockin' song that makes me wants to get up and dance. Production wise, it sounds acoustically like we're in a jar - however, the performance is pure John - magical. His tone, pitch, energy are all making me swing all day long! More, please!

Don't Break This Heart

"Don't Break This Heart" starts with the chorus in Classic hard hitting bar room honky-tonk fashion. The energy is contagious, dropping in the familiar "she left me for another guy" motif in a A - B- B - A formula. The drums are hard driving throughout and pushing the track with a thumping bass line. I'd like to see more lyric development but with only two verses and three choruses there wasn't room, a bridge could have added some story line depth in place of the guitar break adding dimension to the song. As a listener I was more entertained with the overall music as a dance number and not so much empathizing with the singer or the lyrics (which by the way, are well written for this genre). And this can work just fine if this is the intention of the songwriter, take "Honky Tonk Women for ex: the audience is more engaged with the music as opposed to identifying with the singer. The lead singer has a Bob Seger, Travis Tritt type voice which is perfect for this music. I would have liked to have heared less affect on the lead vocal, at times he was obscured in the track, The musicianship was fine for this song, the rhythm could have been cleaner, I felt that he was carrying too much of the load. An acoustic guitar rhythm may have filled out the middle against the electric guitar accompaniment better. I am thinking of Brooks and Dunne, but they will bring in keys too, which might be a good rhythm assist as well. This is a good track to "shop the song" to artists, it is fun, engaging and easy to listen too. Good job!

Review of Don’t Break this Heart

Another great top tapping tune by John that puts you in the mood to move out on on the hardwood! Preformed before a live crowd that just adds to the overall mix! As usual the drums sets the pace and Mr. Saucier deli Evers in that raspy unique voice of his and you will not be disappointed in the message of a heart felt message of love! John thanks for a great little tune that had the music in the right place athe right time and it’s a pleasure to give you a review of your cover of this tune! don't break this heart

A typical country jive encouraging number, Nicely arranged with a very tight ensemble, the percussion is tight and driving originating a solid rhythm and tempo that doesn't alter any way through, nice interlude of lead guitar that punctuated this dreamy lilting melody whilst the vocal keeps on its consistency and appeal to many

Heart

This song reminds me if the legends of country music. So hey! There is at least one country music pioneer out there. If this were written in the 60s early 70s it would easily have been a hit.

Country swing, rock vocals = Great tunes!

Saucier holds back on his vocals first third of the song, then he let's loose with some bluesy rock vocals that would make anyone sit up and take notice. Tight guitar rhythm, I believe an accompanying base riff would add some foundational spice to the pot, but it's still a great dish served up well. Would like to hear the vocals hit the sauce from the first bar, because they have soul and heart, very unique! Let them out!

Nothing better for today

A sweet, fresh and friendly tune which is just perfect to enjoy beautiful summer days like today. It talks about love but it also makes you dance at the beautiful rhythm of country rock traditional music. A very good job of this Canadian artist! Don't miss the opportunity to listen to it, it will be worth it!

There's no words to tell you how incredible this tune is. Don't Break This Heart has that John Anthony Saucier sound and growling vocals that sets him apart. Great arrangement and the mood of the song story soars into the audience loud and clear. What a showman!

Impressive Country-Rock Song

Great song influenced by Country and Rock-music. Accompany rock and lead-guitar brings additional deep feel into the music. The intro feels like a story and the lyrics coming from the heart. The vocalist has a characteristical rock voice and sounds livley plus imaginative transitions making the song complete. Fantastic played guitar solo in the bridge increases this tune and is another extra factor. This song is from a musician, who understand what good music is about. This original song could be a radio hit and I´m sure, you will also like add to your collection.
