James Todd Johnson / About
(James Todd Johnson) was born and raised in Newark OH. and lived in Nashville TN. for nearly 20 years. He goes by his middle name Todd but uses his full name as an artist. Todd has been singing seriously since his teenage years. His musical influences are varied and eclectic, but feels his vocal strengths are best suited for the musical stage and church/ministry. As a young man, Todd's deep voice landed him leading roles in high school and community theater musicals. Todd supplied the voice of the man eating plant (Audrey 2) in a production of (Little Shop Of Horror's) and also played (Jud Fry) in (Oklahoma). He was often cast as the villain because of his voice and size. Throughout Todd's 20's he'd spend much of his time touring the church circuit and traveling with the gospel group - (Festival Of Praise and The Spurrlow's). He spent most of his thirties away from the music scene. Only singing on rare occasions. In 2002 he joined forces with gospel artists (Keith Brown) and (Sandra Payne). Together they recorded a demo of 70's and 80's pop cover tunes. Five of the 10 songs from that endeavor titled (Cover Project) are available on Amazon and iTunes, as well as both of his Gospel Cd/Mp3 albums. CDs can also be found on Ebay. Videos on YouTube.
