I Stumbled I Fell I Crawled
Hi Folks
Just uploaded a new song, thinking about making this a new single... Interesting story to this song...
Twenty five years ago my little sister asked me to go into the town with her, I was living on the Perth Road in my home town at the time and it was just a twenty minute walk... All the way into the town my sister talked non stop we got half way down the road and this song started playing in my head. I could hear the lyrics and music and I was totally captivated by it so much so that I drifted off and didn't hear a word my sister was saying... even though she was talking non stop all the way into the town.
I told myself I'd have to write this song down and record it later which I did but I was disappointed as when I recorded it it sounded complete rubbish, so I shelved it and forgot all about it...
Five or so years later a similar thing happened but that time I had taken a note pad and pen with me and the song "Moan a Lisa" was born which everyone loved when I played it live in the band I was in at the time, still don't have a great recording of that one but will possibly rerecord it...
Twenty five years later and just the other week I thought about the song I heard that day again and decided to try and rerecord it again which I did but in the wrong key for my voice so had to recorded a third time and I got a better version... I still think it could be better but this is the nearest I have got to from the original song that was playing in my head that day, though I did rework some of the lyrics and structure which has improved the final recording...
Moral of the story probably is: A note book and pen should be carried about with you at all times... It was a writer friend at time that had suggested this when I had written the song "Moan a' Lisa" which funnily enough was partially written in a registrar office of Birth, Deaths and Marriages... at that time I was going there to get a copy of my Birth certificate...
All the best to everyone
Hope you all find the story and the song interesting
