Gem City Players hail right out of the funk stable of Dayton,Oh. Home of the most diverse Funk roster that was ever assemble in the music (expired link) of one of the God Fathers of funk the mighty Ohio (expired link) small area achieved something no other city has been able too do and that was they had over 15 plus groups signed too Major label deals and at one time had several of those groups all charting in the top ten at the same time. Ohio Players , Slave,Sun,Lakeside,Shadow,Zapp,Roger,FAZE-O,Dayton,Platypus, New Horizon,Heatwave, Shirley Murdock,Bobby Glover, Junie, Steve Arrington Hall of Fame too just name a few. But now the focus has been shifted to the latest group coming out of that town calling themselves The Gem City (expired link) elements from the old but branding a new funk sound this group will surely be added to that stable of funk artist out of Dayton,(expired link) things right out of the gate with the nasty funk juggler Can We Dance With You. Is their something in the water? after listening too can we dance I think you will agree their is!!!!!!!
