Hi everyone! I’m currently writing a fourth new song, called Paloma Wheel. It’s a story about two characters with fake social media profiles. It’s set in Paloma fairground in the US. Hitman is getting radio play in the Netherlands after many plays here on N1M. Thanks to one and all for helping the song reach Number 1 in the Blues chart here in The Netherlands! Thank you all for making it such a great start to the year for me! The first song, "Hitman" from my EP "Connections" is at Number One in the Blues Charts and I am looking forward to creating a kind of film noir to accompany it. In the meantime, here is another song from the EP, "Never", which is a pop groove, with a kind of John Mayer meets George Michael feel. I hope you guys like it. Hi everyone!
I have finished recording 4 new songs, to be released soon on a limited edition CD, with artwork by one of the most highly regarded international architects/interior designers in The Netherlands, Jochem Straatman. For Jochem, reducing his designs from entire buildings in China and airport lounges at Schipol Airport, Amsterdam, to the front and back of a CD cover is a new adventure. I can't wait to see it!

The 4 songs are very different from each other, but relate to other songs I have written and recorded in the last 40 years - yes, it's my Silver Anniversary as a recording and performing singer/songwriter/frontman! The first song and single, "Connections", is a calm and circular song (you can start and end the song with any of the lines, because they are all connected) with piano, acoustic guitar, violins and voice. It is out now on Spotify spotify:album:5G5pMZGh1OpKJwU1bQQEnz and iTunes (expired link) The artwork for this single is Celtic - Welsh - like me. I designed it with my bass/keyboard player and producer Lode de Roos. Guitar by Joep Berkenbosch, violins by Sabrina Scharm. They are all three great artists in their own right. The other 3 songs coming are a hard blues "Hitman", a rocky/funky song "Ghostwriter" and a funky/pop/dance number "Never". I'll keep you posted!

Good morning all from a stormy Amsterdam!
I am aware that the fires are burning in California and that Palestine has not taken too kindly to JDT's recognition of Jerusalem as only Israel's capital city, not to mention the plight of so many people on the planet and our own problems.
Nevertheless, I hope you won't mind my drawing your attention to my upcoming CONCERT/OPEN PODIUM in aid of (expired link) in aid of CASA JIMMY, a day-care centre in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, for street kids and pregnant teenagers. The aim is to raise enough money to pay towards major rapairs to the house itself, as well as something towards the services of a child psychologist. I sponsored a child for 4 years there and visited this summer. I restrung their classical guitars, bought them some food and drink for their party and watched their wonderful dance show before performing Stevie Wonder's Superstition on their playground using a strapless classical guitar I had just tuned. It was all very spontaneous and heartfelt but I HAD TO DO MORE! So, from 11;00 - 23:00 hours GMT +1 on SATURDAY 16 DECEMBER, we will try to RAISE THE ROOF FOR CASA JIMMY and carry on what the wonderful JIMMY PAGE of LED ZEPPELIN started in 1998.

Hi and thank you to every one of you who has subscribed to my music here at N1M. !

At the moment I am playing a regular gig every Saturday in Amsterdam, where I live, at a traditional Dutch "brown" cafe, Cafe Hermes, at Centuurbaan 55, the like of which is sadly dying out in the city. Locals, tourists and travelers bump into each other there to drink the best beers, or grab a coffee, watch Ajax on the screen, play traditional billiards or other old-style pub games and, on Saturdays from 4.30pm til 8pm, they start their evening off with my music, a mixture of covers and my own songs. All of my own songs are free to download at (expired link). I play whatever the mood requires, from The Beatles to The Cult, from The Rolling Stones to John Legend, songs from England, Scotland, Ireland and my homeland, Wales, not forgetting the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. I have a great cajon player and harmonica player with me and it's an Open Mic, so join us if you're in town and I'll recommend other live venues for you to go to until the wee small hours!

I am also the singer in a band called The Jones, playing at parties and festivals, getting people on the dance floor from the very first number and keeping them till the last. You can find us at (expired link) - our motto is "music, no rules" .

I am proud to say that I have raised a lot of money with my own songs in the past - from the breast cancer ward in Windsor, to The Air Ambulance Rescue Trust for Berkshire. At the moment I am planning a "big jam" in aid of Task Brasil Trust uk to raise money for the street kids of Rio de Janeiro, some of whom are looked after at the wonderful Casa Jimmy in Santa Teresa. The project was started with a donation from Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin in 1988 and I visited them this summer. I had previously sponsored a boy there for four years. He's now doing well at school. They need repairs and many more things to keep going. I am hoping to raise some money to help them, so watch this space!

On November 23rd, all things being equal, I am going into the studio to start recording new songs. They always come in batches of three or four every few years. What you have here on N1M are three from 2013, my Amsterdam songs. The three new songs are called Hitman (blues), Never (funk/soul) and Ghostwriter (hard rock/alternative). I shall be working with Amsterdam's finest, Joep Berkenbosch and Lode de Roos.
