Bas Vossen

Bassist
Born in 1966 Bas attended Woodstock as one of the youngest performers. He's known for rolling superb baselines throughout his career. Also teaching in private and in a music school: bass, guitar, drums, percussion. Bas studied with Walter Latupeirissa (Snowy White, Walter Trout, Dana Fuchs etc) Jan Janssen (Point Blue) and Jeroen van Niele (Livin'BluesXperience), and managed the Freewheelers Cello Band 2008-2022.

Ilene’s parents had a barbershop choir, so she heard live music before being born. This created a life long love for it. Starting on the Hammond she learned so fast that her dad actually could make money with her demonstrations. At eleven she got her first cello; a love for life. Singing came after she moved to Europe; the blues came after getting with Bas. She beat cancer and still performs, for example at the Cello Congress in Berkeley.
