Blues with a Effects!

Helpful

Acoustic blues is in there deep, The harp brings out the body of the song and the sole is straight forward. the writing is excellent, the guitar playing is suburb, and Red Light is a perfect little tune that can be played in front of any audience.

Nice minor blues chord changes on the verse and very creative use of instrumentation (violin, horns and harmonica). I liked the chord changes in the turn-around. I would enjoy hearing more from this artist. I loved Fransois' voice.

The music Journey

One of the first part of my music journey, I was looking and hear at all music styles, and little by little I memorize the songs , and after that recognize the melody and I got very good doing that you know? and I'm doing that because I don't like to copy melody of an old song and a new song I do not like it at all. Because no matter how good it's sound for me it's just a copy, don't get me wrong!, but after I hear your song, I remember " bay be I want to leva you " by Led Zeppelin Sorry about that. Por us other people ideas. I want to be original and I like to hear new music and new songs. But if I hear and recognize the onxo D' Cannella.

This isn't what I'd call Blues, but hang on just a minute. It's definitely folk/ Americana, and it's good! I like the sax and the harmonica; I'm not sure I've ever heard the two together; it works! Bright, powerful acoustic guitar and very soulful vocals. The recording itself is very bright and clear- I can dig this music, and will definitely go in search of more. Nice lyrical imagery, too.

I listen to this music while I'm cleaning my home. Very mellow and nice. It make you want to lounge and be free. I can groove to this any day. Keep up the good work because it works for me. Good day!

I like this the beginning is tantalizing. I like the guitar and the sax. Really a smooth and bluesy sound ya got going on here! There is also a sense of foreboding. I can almost feel the anguish. These lyrics are really depressing. But that is the point of the song now isn't it? I really like the sound you boys have going on with this tune. It is very good and the mix and arrangement of this song is amazing. I like your passion at the end with the "red light" thing ya got going. Keep on doing your thing!

Am liking the jazzy influence. The story telling weaves through the music sweetly and the mood is dusky and edgy. That harp has a haunting quality that plays the part of a violin. Can see that red light and the silhouette and feel the blues.

A really cool blues! Everything is inside, a good guitar, a light bass, a sax harmonica answering the voice. The voice is deep. Some times we listen the James Bond patern. It akes me want to listen more. The quality of the recording is good. Good job guys!

Blues...Blueprint to all music w/ soul.

Happened across this song in my review inbox. Though I don’t listen to much blues anymore, regretably, I’m sure I find it again in life. Always knowing that blues is the foundation to all good songs and that carry any meaning or soul, this is done very well, with a distinct improv feeling, like it was set up live and just a one take recording. Good guitar work, cool horns, great vibe that could easily be a setting in a small club w/ a beer in hand. Blues to me is baring soul and telling a true story of hardship that comes from the artist heart, like a witnesss exposing what they see while most just either ignore or pretend to... This song holds distinct identity and strong storytelling description that definitely puts you there, right in the real of it.

yes i hear the celtic strain very much tracing shape and form ;stirring birthlight through time slightly reminiscent of ghost cauldron ..i did say 'slightly' ..suggesting Clannad but truthfully nothing to compare it with .It is veritably unique which is hard to achieve in these days of unrestrained output

Review - Francois Spannenburg - Red Light

Good piece of work on this one. I give it a 4.5 star rating. Love the instrumentation and the overall arrangement. I didn't give it five stars because the song topic (subject matter) doesn't seem to fit with the upbeat groove of the music itself. Sounds like it should be about a night out on the town but its about a prostitute. I guess I don't identify with the story so, no offence intended by any means. Love the sax and harmonic. The guitar work was crafty, well written and executed as well. Make More. Break a Leg! - Del Leon

Nice minor blues love the sax words are haunting and vocal in grossing,I wrote a sing like this vibe once called somewhere in the twilight zone and red light matches the vibe a little like the crusaders tune I think it was called street lights also a good tune.i don’t know if classify this blues, more like sever rock,or even soft like a jazz,I’ve been hoping it would kick into a real jam at some point and some drums would be cool, harp is good but the sax is cooler, good job,I’m feelin it for sure

I love the back picking , it is reminiscent of one of my favorites , Harlem Nocturne . I really like the vocals and the music but as a Blues man I am really missing the Bass guitar in this . Best of luck with your song , Cliff .

Softly started with the Guitar and Sax for me was a lovely balance, The lyrics and tones go very well together,I do like the way the song is balanced and mixed, and the song builds well. I do also like the instrumental break which gives the song more colour . The song suits the vocalist, best use of the red light i can think off and I can imagine it so pictorially you manage to convey the song very well. Great Job !!

Tears and bitterness in her eyes

This is a totally ridiculous song about some miserable prostitute who appears to be dissatisfied with her way of making a living. Maybe she would be better off getting a cleaning job or attending night school with the hope of achieving some qualifications for a more suitable career. The music is excellent and well produced, especially the melodic harmonica. It is a great atmospheric piece but, as an attempt to induce sympathy for a prostitute, fails to engage. I have never understood how this sickening degradation of women, however willing, is allowed and even encouraged in a civilised society. Incidentally, I offered Spannenburg the best harmonica song of all time but never heard back.

Nice Flow

Helpful

Flows brilliantly, great use of harmony, the melody trades off, the cadence trades off, the rhythm flows brilliantly, key signatures trade off, dynamics really flow together nicely, different instruments ebb and flow, the progression of this wonderful piece trades off, and basically all aspects of it flow together brilliantly. I'm sure you have, at one point, heard somebody refer to a deep, intellectual quote as food for thought. Well, pieces like these are more like dessert for thought.
