A Fine Song

Helpful

This is an excellent choice. The key to doing a good cover version, particularly a well known song like this one, is to add something to the song and to not just do a carbon copy of the original. This has been achieved with this version. I particularly like the guitar solo. Good harmonica playing and vocals, too. Interesting addition of Amazing Grace and the song doesn't run for too long, unlike a lot of the songs on numberonemusic. Keep up the good work.

BEAUTIFUL VERSION OF A CLASSIC SONG

The same melody can be interpreted softly, melodiously, joyfully, raw, playful, and in many ways sung or played by an instrument. Think of a metal song, a children's song or a romantic song. Of course, this is not a purely compositional aspect, but we must take it into account as it influences notoriously. Thinking about how the melody should sound, even the timbre of it is a very important aspect. Very good song. My congratulations.

A lady with a golden voice

Emma sings an old folk song that gives it its own timbre and has a strong own style. Her interpretation of the original text is supplemented with her own sentences. It all is nicely accompanied by an acoustic guitar. This is really recommended.

House of the Rising Sun review

I've looked at your version of this song for several weeks and avoided reviewing it simply due to it being a 'classic' song redone and I don't expect much. But you honestly did a real good rendition of it! The quality of the recording is very clear and well played. Your vocals surprised me. Nice job. The only thing I could say could use a redo would be the harmonica. It's okay but in today's world of 'radio ready' music, everything is expected to be the best you can do. All in all, this is a really nice version of the old Animals song. Keep working at what you are doing with the acoustic singer/songwriter approach. It's working for you. Good luck in the future and keep going forward.

Review of House of Rising Sun

Well This makes four times I have listened and second time to review, first review vanished on me, I like the start and the instruments and the voice, but at the end of the verse the little yo yo up and down with your voice was probably planned ! That beeping said I think your voice is too powerful to mess with, I think you should just put all into that ending , let your feeling come through, if you want more then add some back up vocals to blend it all together!you picked a song that has been covered many times and it is one of my favorites and I might listen a little closervjudge a little more harsh but you and your group did a really great job on a classic tune. The guitar is really good and the harp is pulling it together ,for you, ! I might add a soft fiddle to the mixture! Again you toned the end down in last two runs and that was better, but I think you need to turn your voice loose on those ending and really moan the blues and instead of the yo you blend it with harmony or the fiddle! Thanks for the opportunity to review for you and look forward to hearing you again! Best of everything in your music!

A great arrangement of this classic song

Excellent arrangement of this; classic style for this song of unknown origins which has been covered by many artists in different styles. With the origins going back over 100 years, this arrangement, in such a stripped down version, is the way the song would have been originally played. Perfect!

Voice Like New Honey

Really great soft, rhythmic guitar playing well against the soft but stern voice of Emma. I like she doesn't really stretch the notes and kind of right to the point. I can see her getting mesmerized by some handsome gambler who just blew into to town. The harmonica mentally takes you to the front porch of the house in the summertime. Loved the down to earth sound. Folksy blues indeed !!!

Avid and absolute reviews.

I like the different tone to her voice. I have to say my favorite is the harmonica. The guitar playing is consistent. It has a nice mellow vibe to you It as well. It’s not my favorite rendition of the classic song but it’s good!

Iggy Ice here with a review of a classic tune done by a very classy Artist. Rosie Rumba is sitting next to me, with Chris Sostre from our Miami Affiliate. Rosie you start it off. Rosie Rumba: Happy to do so Ice. When Android approved reviewing this tune and forwarded it to me this morning, I listened before leaving for work. Twice, then in the studio just now on the big system. Emma's version gets top marks from me, and Chris for holding our interest. We pooled our data since he has to head out to Brooklyn. This is based on the arrangement, originality, and Emma's vocals. She delivers the goods vocally in this tune for sure. Audio quality is good. We shaved a few decimals off for composition. We couldn't find out there were additional musicians on this track or if Emma is a multi-instrument artist? Self produced while playing all the instruments get her 5 stars from us. We'd like to hear more originality in the actual composition to match the diversity of Emma's vocal range. We've all heard the original artist's version. In a club, Chris says adding a unique twist to any cover is what the DJs are doing. Since she a recording artist, should do the same. Ice? Iggy Ice: Hmm, (scratching bald head). I'm glad you stopped by Chris with a fresh perspective from the Miami clubs. It makes sense. There's coffee houses for artists to stick to the original score, and theres concert venues that even the original artist add something extra to their tune. Chris: Yes Ice. Like the vinyl, "Made In Japan", Blackmore's solos on Some On The Water are like night and day from Machine Head. It's even more apparent in Highway Star. Rosie: Hey Chris, we know each other a few years, and I know you're 42. How did you get into so many different genres? Dance, Rap, Hip Hop, I knew your were into, but Deep Purple? Where's that's reference coming from pray tell? Chris: (Laughs). Can is say it? (Looks at Iggy Ice). Ice: Say what? Chris: Android is my step-father since 1994. Ice: I guess so since you just said it (laughs). Recap: We are all in agreement. Emma did an excellent job on this tune. She has options suggested to her for future versions, and or to apply to another cover. I for one will gladly go to see Emma when we're in Jackson, and when she comes to NYC or Tampa, we're there for her! Iggy Ice Publicity on behalf of: iAndroid Dior D'Nai

Lyric allows many poetic approaches to Artist Favorite(s). Just as an Artist may adjust the intended gender to deliver a song written to be performed by a specific gender. ie; Coco Montoya with "The One Who Really Loves You"

This is the second time I have reviewed a tune of Emma's. This one is a delight. Enjoyed the instrumentation. The harmonica was not overplayed or overpowering as many are. Guitar solo fit nicely. I enjoyed Emma's vocal take on this as well. Azing Grace was a nice twist at the end. This is a definite listen!

Nice work!

Fantastic harmonica solo, great vocals and a nice clean smooth sound. This is really well done. Thanks for the cover, it's one of my favorites of this song. You could turn your vocals up a little in the middle of it, it does get overwhelmed by the swell, but other than that the mix sounds great too.

Sun Set

One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song a rehash of a classic that I wonder when we'll finally have enough remakes to last a lifetime. Emma delivers proof a widely different interpretation can be fresh and new.

Fresh twist on a very old standard!

Nice cover .. Different approach, different instrumentation! Sounds great! Like the harmonica work and guitar. Vocals are nice. Would have like to have heard full band compliment with this arrangement and some backup vocals.. All in all a very nice track. Congratulations!

Too jerky

The song does not flow as it should as she sings in fits and starts. However, she does has a really good voice that might suit other songs better. The backing is rather good all round with excellent guitar and just the right amount of harmonica. At the end of the day, however, she is not quite capable of bursting any balloons in my humble opinion. I hope that I am entirely mistaken.
