I wrote Essie's Song for her. In addition to working for other people, she raised kids that noone else wanted, for years. Physical, mental problems, blind, deaf, in an era when there were no soft landing places for people with problems. Essie was my hero. How bout you?

I hate that we've all cowered into our predetermined socioeconomic/racial groups. That means that we'll never have contact with anyone different from ourselves. It means that we'll never hear anything that challenges the way we see the world. It means that we'll never hear anything that we don't like and we'll never grow. How sad. We need each other. We need the differences. Not that we should dwell on the differences. We have much more incommon. We should be coming together out of love, but I can't blame folks for being afraid of the dominant culture. "Essie's Song" is about that coming together. That deep appreciation. Not only was (she's passed on) she loving but she also had a strength that took knowing her well not to be intimidated by her. She was almost 6 ft tall. Please listen to "Essie's Song" and pass it on. Then sit with, talk to, reach out, share with, smile at someone different from you and let's make the world a little better.
Love,

It’s a multi level conscious story about a girl trying to promote a 4 hr work day. On one level she’s catching fireflies for the elves who are encouraging her. They are also afraid that she’ll just fly away but she catches enough for them all to fly with her. Then it’s about being encouraged to continue the campaign cause it can fix many problems.

If anyone would like to find Essie's Song or any of my others it's in the most obvious of link YouTube. fb, and CD baby. See you later!
"Every once in a while someone comes along who just inspires a song, You know she worked too hard to be honest to pretend, That she could give a part and leave out her heart, Always sharing, always caring. Essie I don't know what the world would have been without you, with out you. It sure would have been a colder place without your face and the love that surrounds you..."
