Good morning everyone! It’s 2:21 am here on the east coast in our hometown of Atlanta. It’s been a while since we’ve spoken to all of you and we would like to announce why. Elements of Style has made a huge change over the Summer of this year. A brief hiatus had ensued due to a new life being brought into the world. Our front man Zach Fortnight’s daughter Judith Mae was born. A life on the road is extremely difficult with a family, so Zach has decided to amicably part ways with the group to focus on raising Judith. The door is always open for him to return in the future. We went on with the three of us, and to be honest, it did not work out like it did in Love and Rockets when they parted ways with Peter Murphy in Bauhaus. I thought long and hard about how to keep the dream alive, because parting ways with Zach was devastating for the future that I know Elements of Style holds. And afterwards we figured it out. I called an old friend who had just released his first ep after listening to it. I was blown away. Gihon Warner, AKA Mr. Emeritus had released his album Chrysalis in 2018 and I knew he had to be a part of this after it hit my ears. A spoken word master of poetry, along with a singing voice and bars who makes his own beats, makes him a quadruple threat and I have been furthering his guitar knowledge with lessons as well. I’m grooming him harder than Cus D’Amato groomed Mike Tyson. An era has ended with Zach, him being the only other original member of this group other than me, leaving me solely as a senior member since our inception in 2012. But I know with Andy Ball’s smooth bass lines, vocals and hit worthy songwriting, and David Goodwin’s precise drumming and my guitar and keys instrumentation, we can really come into our own with Mr. Emeritus at the helm. The set list is changing drastically, so get ready for a new live show with a new sound for the group. Welcome to the future of EOS.
