About Edu Camargo

Music seemed to wait for "Eduardo Camargo Silva" way before his birth on february 23, 1979 in São Paulo, SP, southeast of Brazil. In his early years "Edu Camargo" was already influenced by many artists of the R&B/soul scene, such as "Lionel Richie", "Marvin Gaye" and "Stevie Wonder", to name a few, and brazilian acts such as "Djavan and soul singer / songwriter "Tim Maia".

Blind due to congenital glaucoma, Edu Camargo attended the "Pe. Chico Blind Institute" making his elementary course from 1986 through 1997. Besides his regular courses, there Edu also developed his skills as a singer and instrumentalist.

He started working professionally in 1991, singing and playing guitar, performing in bars, restaurants and street parties. He made a duo with his sister "Simone" and they performed together for four years. After that, the duo broke up and "Simone" decided for a career as a parathlete.

"Edu Camargo" kept on performing and bars and clubs until 1998. During this period, in 1995 he started taking piano lessons and got interested on sequencing, leading him to do shows with the one man band concept, where he could design the arrangements and hava lots of instruments playing at the same time without any band following him; but this whole sequencing discovery actually led him in 1998 to start a journey as a music producer.

He had is beginings in this field as creator and music producer of radio jingles for more than 300 stations around Brazil. These include major names such as the "Radio Globo" network, "Radio Record" (São Paulo), "Alpha FM" (São Paulo) "Antena 1 FM" (São Paulo) and "Band FM" (a national top40 radio from the Bandeirantes Group). This period lasted for 13 years where he looked forward to make other projects.

In the phonographic industry, he started working as a vocal producer for the second album of "Adryana & a Rapaziada in 2001, and in 2002 he started an important partnership with the samba group "Os Travessos". For their album of that year, he contributed two songs, "Canção de Amor" (Love Song) and "Distância" (Distance), the latter placed number 7 on the charts of 2002 and it's considerd one of Edu Camargo's masterpieces. This partnership between "Edu" and "Os Travessos" extended for two more years where he worked as arranger and backing vocal for their albums released in 2003 and 2004. Still for the phonographic industry, "Edu" worked as session / live musician for acts such as "Banda Raça Negra", "Fat Family" and british dance artist "Double You".

Between 2010 and 2012, he was co-author and arranger of songs for the brazilian Disney's teen act "College 11", a duo composed by "Mayra" and the now producer "Bruno Martini". in the same period he was vocalist and keyboardist for a band called "Disk Music", a band designed to play cover of dance songs in clubs.

In 2012, "Edu and music producer "Arnaldo Saccomani" get together and develop one of the most important partnerships in the history of brazilian entertainment. "Arnaldo", then music director of brazilian tv broadcast "SBT" called Edu for a series of produced musics for the soundtracks of telenovelas produced by the company. Those were brazilian adaptations of latin american novelas such as "Carrossel de Niños", "Carita de Ángel", "Cómplices al Rescate" and "Chiquititas". This partnership lasted for 7 years and scored a number of hits and awards.

In 2014, "Edu Camargo" was a contestant for the third season of "The Voice Brazil". He participated from september 25 through december 11, and quit before the season reached the semifinals.

In 2020 he released his debut album "Infinito... E Além" (Endless... And Beyond). He is now working in his second album and also writing ideas for his first work in english.
