Cinematic Folk Rocks!

Helpful

Such an interesting piece! Where do I begin? Truly a cinematic piece, this songs just tells you a story of epic adventure! The opening melodic motif played by violin, following an intro culminating in a rattlesnake shaker (which I could also easily hear being played by Chinese erhu) is an ageless modal folk melody that could easily be at home in the Mongolian desert, the taverns of Medieval Europe, or as accompaniment to The Hobbit and other epic adventure movies! The chords are vibrant into a well cinematic progression supported by low strings and a catchy acoustic groove. About halfway through, the excitement really begins when the players break into a fast 6/8 Celtic Reel vibe and you can almost imagine the swashbuckling mayhem that ensues on screen! A musketeer or pirate fencing off a mob on a bar table or a thief stealing aways a princess from her castle while being chased down by the King's guards? You choose! And the music accelerates so it's really clear these are live players and organic instruments! Amazing work and compliments to you and your friends! This music writing technique worked out well for you, so I hope you venture to try it again to delight us all! :-)

Wow! So far, most of the instrumentals I've heard from Fred Cole have been piano-based and haunting or lilting melodies. This is, however, a collaboration with some of his friends, and is an up-tempo number featuring violins and traditional percussive sounds so reminiscent of Gaelic folk music Personally, I'd have ditched the ten seconds of strangeness at the beginning of the track, and gone straight in with that gorgeous melody line, but what do I know. Halfway through the pace picks up to take it even deeper into a Gaelic-style reel that soon has the toes tapping. I love this piece.

Coooooooooooooool

Every once in a while, music will come to paint a great picture, I see my self running thru the fields and being struck and yet being free what God has created, I like this a lot and this brings back memories to my childhood when everything was just beginning to be a new adventure in life and each day would be so interesting. The instrumentation and structure all thru is great, thank you for such a tune tune like this Songedge

Beautiful keltic music.

Beautiful Celtic music. Great production and mix. Very enjoyable. I like your orchestration. I listened to it on pro equipment. I would say that the first part of the song is a bit heavier on the left side. This is the only thing I would suggest to reconsider.

It's great to hear some audio recording, the doubled violin, the counter meolody, maybe the piano and maybe the percussion even. The composition is great, the build, the switch to triple and speeding woerks great and you follow the music very smoothly. As a bass lover in the production, I would add some bass instrument or track the left hand piano on top. THe percussion sounded a bit weak especially in the speeding up you would benefit from a accentuated groove i suppose. As well a bit more depth would bring out more emotions from the fiddle-violin. But hey its just me. Other than that kudos Doctor. All the best.

Suggestivo

Medieval environment, very very beautiful. It could be inserted or proposed as a comment for some TV series set in a medieval or fantastic environment. Great for Pub play list or goth lovers. To believe in the promotion

"Green" it's green!

This song is fresh and suggestive. It seem an old western ballade but with modern impulse. Very nice the violin lead that push the rhytm, percussive and enganging. Congratulation Dr Fred Cole!

I agree

I am immediately drawn to the Celtic strings and rhythm which holds you beautifully, all the way to the tempo change. Things start to hot up straight away and now I feel I'm at a live gig and want to shout "Hey". Things slow to a calm outro, reminding us of the subtle beginnings. I longed for more, so an extension with some added crowd noise and clapping would of been the only things I would add, however it's a tremendous achievement as it stands. Amazing work, well done :)

Excellent work!

Very nice and epic! The instrumentation is perfect. The melody also strong and also the change in the middle of the song! A very good track to make your day. The track has a folk colour and that's what it also makes it beautiful!

Great tune!

Very nice track, I like the harmonies and melodies you composed here. And the changes of rithm are great. It would be the original soundtrack for a film or a videogame. The track transports me to a journey across mountains anf forests. Regards!

This piece is much different than other pieces in that it is not as subtle an ambient feel as other ones. Although I do like the change in dynamics of this song. More of a song feel than an ambient feel that is cool too. Good production and interesting composition.

Folkloric tune

This tune is a very nice folkloric piece with violins and percussion. It seems like irish in its format and in the change of rythms. The incresing speed is interesting as it is for a dancing group in a typical folkloric party.
