One of their most popular singles has been coined as the theme song for their Stop The Violence movement in Chicago, and the song is titled 'Aint Gon Stop" and it sends chills down the spines of almost all of those who listen to it. About Diamond Z The U Digsta
Diamond Z The U Digsta- born Marcus Zeigler on September 11 in Chicago,IL. The youngest of 4 children, he was born and raised in what was considered the worst public housing development in the United States, the Cabrini Green Housing Projects.
He was a member of the Black Gangster Disciples street gang, and its the experiences of running with the gang, that inspires the lyrics of his (expired link) a near death incident, which nearly took his life, he decided to change his name and put the gang life behind him. He was always considered a handsome ladies man, so his mentor and fellow rapper from Cabrini Green named
Sugar Ray Dinke, said that since diamonds are a girls best friend, and all the ladies love you, lets call you Diamond. And since your last name Zeigler begins with a Z, lets call you Diamond Z. It wasnt until some years later that The U Digsta was added, simply because he would always use the quote, "Ya Dig". So this is how Diamond Z The U Digsta was born.
He deems his brand of music as, Incompatible Muzik, because his long time friend and record label coowner Gregory Benson, boldly stated Country music and Heavy metal as his first love in music, and Diamond Z's first love in music is R&B and Hip Hop, but these two united in music matrimony and combined music genre's that are considered to be non-combine-able thus creating what they call, Incompatible Muzik.
After nearly 15 years of working together, they have established a brand of music that is loved by thousands of fans, and they continue to record and distribute some of the hottest Hip Hop on the underground music scene, with Diamond Z dropping some of the most dopest lyrics of all time. One of his most loved songs, "Aint Gon Stop" was inspired by the recent violent out break of inner city shootings and killings in Chicago, and has been deemed the theme song of the Peace movement lead by community activist and Diamond Z's manager Raymond Richard bka Brother Ray.
