Just wanted to reach out and tell you all how grateful I am for you all. 2020 was a very difficult year for the band but I was able to get a new EP started and wrote a few new songs that haven’t been tracked yet. I’m floored by the support from each and every one of you. I receive thoughtful messages almost daily from you all and it has truly gotten me through some difficult times as I battle “Imposter Syndrome” from time to time. About Derrick Davis
As an native of Austin TX, Derrick Davis was bound by fate to a life of songwriting and story telling. Growing up in the diverse Austin music scene truly had a lasting impact on his ideas and views about his future songwriting. With a few close and talented friends from high school Derrick took what were once scratchy acoustic ideas and transformed them into a diverse and smooth example of what came to be his first project. 2002 led to Derrick’s first LP release, “And Everything In Between.” This album was “a well-tuned weaving of styles and genres” that led to a short East coast acoustic tour the following summer.
After a short time in Brooklyn, New York Derrick moved home to work on what is to be his strongest release to date. His new unreleased, sophomore EP “Burnout” has taken the idea of his “genre-less” mix of songs and one again, ran without abandon to show new ears and old that “good music is just good music.” The band’s high energy performances accompanied by meticulous songwriting and musicianship certainly keep ears perked about whats to come from this group of friends.
