Hello and Greetings , How has your winter and now early spring going ? I like the warmer weather but not so much looking forward to the yard work. I had a gig on Feb 15th at a place called Chances Social in KC. It went very well and the younger crowd loved the music. It was located in the arts district in KC. The previous night (Valentines Day) I actually got 2 last minute bookings. WOW! That’s great and that doesn’t happen too often. I played at a place called The Reef which is a seafood restaurant here in KC. I played 3 hours which was unexpected but it was a blast. The people loved it and I even had people offering to buy me drinks. I had to the other place I couldn’t play which was hard for me to do. I was hoping for a Valentines day gig I have some more private parties coming up that I will be playing for and with the warmer weather, I hope for more gigs. I’ve been adding new songs to my play list I just found out some disappointing news.  The KC plaza for the past 30 years has had the Plaza Live series featuring various bands performing at the KC Plaza. I performed there for the last 4-5 years and its was always blast and a gig that I always looked forward to. I called about getting a date to perform there this year and found out the KC plaza is under new management and the new management has cancelled the Plaza Live series. No bands will be performing at the plaza. This is just plain dumb and Its very disappointing. This is a great place to have bands and the people love it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Recording still in progress ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The new song is in the mixing phase so stay tuned. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Time to humble ourselves. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ For me , it’s getting so bad I don’t even like reading the news anymore. It just keeps getting worse . Election stuff with attacks, continued mass shootings, outbreak of the corona virus and more. It’s just getting sick. At some point don’t you get sick of it . I do. Where do you turn when you had enough ? Here’s an interesting passage from 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place” What does it mean to humble oneself ? The definition of humble is having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance. Another words dropping our pride and realizing our faults. All throughout the bible when people humbled themselves, God heard them and helped them and did not destroy them. An example is David with his sin against Bathsheba. Those who did not humble themselves in most cases were destroyed. Look at how Pharaoh ended up when he did not humble himself after God gave him several chances. Our world in some ways is self-destructing and I believe it has a lot to do with pride and greed. Please take time regularly to humble yourself.
